THE LAST COACH..........!!!!

We have managed to run a coach/bus for Canvey supporters to all league/cup games since 1993 when Les drove the "Thamesway Flyer" week in, week out to every away game for just £5 each.

This was our beloved carriage for just over 5 years and our Pee stops at South Mimms/Clacketts on the M25 became legendary during our rise through the Diadora/Icis Isthmian Leagues.

We lost the Flyer and Dave Doughty and myself sought a coach company who could replace the Flyer but we were forced to up the price to £8.

This hurt but we still filled the coach most weeks. The £8 stayed in place when the coach company went bust and we had to find a replacement quick !!

This we did and C I Coachlines who was the team coach supplier stepped in and nearly matched the previous prices for us and served us well for 3 years.

With promotion to the Conference we had to seek a coach company who could fulfill our longer distance journey's but again at a cost, and so we now are forced to charge £15 and this is for some round trips of over 500 miles.

We now face Exeter next Saturday and if the coach does not break even it will be unable to run again. The coach provides a service to the fans of CIFC and is a safe and comfortable way of getting to the games. I will drive all around England if i have to but i would rather not.

Come on lads, we cannot let this end after 12 years.

Must admit i've only been to a handful of away games this and last season and always used the coach.

Always made to feel very welcome and The Yellow Army always lift ya spirits.

Got to be the best way to travel!!

Cant understand why more of the 'men' dont go to the away games.

The atmosphere is great even though only 50 or so hardened supporters make the journey week in week out (well done to ya all)

Be great if more of us could make the effort.

Tell the woman at home your going and send her on a trip down the shop with your credit card. She'll be more than happy to see the back of ya!

We all need that coach and Chris has done a great job keeping it running for this long.

Well done Chris.

Come on yous lot lets fill it for Saturday!

I really hope it isn't the end of the supporters coach.

I've used it a couple of times and found it to be great value and a good laugh.

I wanted to use the supporters coach for the Exeter game but I've a wedding reception to attend - I'll miss the game so thats [****!!****] me off no end, let alone the news about the supporters coach.

As I say, I hope it isn't the end as it will certainly effect those that have no other means of getting to away games at such great value when compared to trains. My next coach trip looks to be Southport - I hope it's still available.
