From what I've seen so far, you need Steve Velandia in the middle, playing behind the front two. with Ruddi going to play across the back line,in front of the defense.

Russel Penn in the centre of midfield with Woodward ( morgan ) and Cambell on the flanks.

In old El Tells legendary Diamond formation.

That gives Velandia the chance to play intelligent balls through to the strikers on the ground.

Penn works his nutts off in the middle and you've got to find an outlet for all the work he does.

This way I think you can.

As for Ruddi I dont think he wins any ball in the middle and is always chasing shadows and commiting fouls in dangerous areas.

You have to find a way to play to your strengths and long balls into the slight front two arent the way.

From what I've seen there arent many sides that if you played the ball on the ground would be able to handle ETFC as most of them have banked their tactics on the "Long" ball which exposes your slight back line.

Isn't part of the problem the apparent inability to follow instructions. Jim always says that he and his training staff never encourage players to play a long ball game. I have no reason to doubt that that's the case. Yet what happens when things aren't going their way.... you've guessed it.

 

Are the instructions too complicated or the players' concentration unable to be maintained sufficiently to follow them?

 

I suppose that Berko had nothing to lose yesterday, but the team's inability to impose itself upon them was the cause of the downfall. Just as it was against Redbridge and in many other ganes this season. We need players with greater physical presence who can folow team orders.

Then those players should be playing for another Club.

100% correct.
If the players we have cannot work it out for themselves they should not be selected.
If the players we have cannot do as they are instructed by Jim and his team, they should not be selected.
Perhaps a little bit of "passion" from the bench, when we go a goal down, may help !

This forum is FULL every week with the same story from us the supporters, the current tactics that we are playing ( via Jim or not ) are just not working with the players we have on the field.

Smething has to change or The Brimo will be empty, as it was towards the end of the Berlo match.

The team has done well in a new league but going forwards at home you need goal hungry strikers. Both Green and Hammatt work hard and hold the ball up well.But something more is needed. id give Niall Ritchie more of a chance or get someone new up front. Im sure that with the crowds town attract we should be able to get a decent striker who wants to play for us.

Thought it was a shame that Kevin Reilly and Dean Nyman left,they both seemed attack minded.
