I am sorry you have left Enfield Town FC. You were one of my favourite players. Thank you for carrying me out onto the pitch when I was mascot and we won the Championship last season. I will miss seing you at games.

NO. He dropped Hammett the very game before the AGM (which defused the situation),but has continued to play him ever since.

 

Look,we all like Brian as a person and his past record proves that he was a quality player, BUT i believe the apathy of the fans this season and the departures and unhappiness in the squad, coincide with Brians arrival at the club. At the AGM Jim stated that he has total faith in Brians ability to produce the goods.

Mmm, I see, thanks LS. It's tricky trying to follow a team plus keep up with the gossip all from 200 miles! It's such a shame - the whole ethos of Town was the team spirit, including players, management, board and supporters - we were all one team.

 

I wonder how long this "total faith" will go on for? Even Benitez finally subbed Peter Crouch yesterday!

Brian had one good attempt at chipping the keeper from the edge of the box in the first half.The rest of his contribution was below par.But saying that, so were most of the other performaces,especially that of his stike partner Dean Greene.

I thought Brian played as well as he could given the circumstances. The delivery into the front two was poor so he had little service. When he did get on the ball he held it up well enough and was always trying to turn the defender. We need more creativity in midfield. As I mentioned on another thread, the long ball does not wok when you have a small attack.

I have spoken to three people who all thought that he played well.

 

Perhaps as Mr H says people ought to look at the service to the front players as well.

 

I accept it is easy from Gloucestershire to make these comments but I get as frustrated as everyone else by our shortage of home goals. All I can say is tho that the comments I got yesterday was that BH had a better game than most!

Lets put it to the vote. Who thinks that Hammett had a good game yesterday?

100% effort cant knock that, but......

Some good off the ball running but when he has the ball at his feet he appears to lack sharpness & takes an age to do something constructive with it.

 

I thought he had a typical "Bryan" game...Average.

We've all seen evidence that Bryan's a good finisher, but he and whoever else plays up front just aren't getting the service. I think the lack of physical presence that runs through much of the team is also relevant. Yesterday's best spell was just before Berko scored and they had already squandered a couple of other opportunities; we might have all packed up and gone home then.

 

We are just not able to dominate teams at the moment. There are too many lightweight players for me at the moment, and too much similarity in the team. I think changes are required. Perhaps Magona into midfield, as a thought?

Personally, i don't feel Magona offers anymore in defense or in midfield than Brotherton or Baldwin would/could have done.

 

Talking of lightweight.I presume you're talking about players like Rudi,Woodward,and Negus..etc.Even though they are small, they can all get stuck in.If they had two powerfull hard-running forwards in front of them, it wouldn't be a problem.But having them PLUS two lightweight players up top,does make the team seem unbalanced and small.

Agreed but one of them has gone and the other doesn't look like he'd get a game if he was the only bloke in the ground with a pair of boots at five to three at the moment.
