Stupid infighting

Guest

Recommended Posts

With fans arguing about the management and coaching staff, fans arguing about out of control children and then trying to fight each other, and then chav killer posting alcohol fueled mindless comments - whats going on?

If the players see the posts on here and what happened behind the goal I would not blame them for some of the performances or even if they did not turn up for mondays game!

Those who these comments are targeted at know who they are - GROW UP AND SUPPORT THE TEAM!!!!

Ian I did not put my name to it as those who it was aimed at have responded in the way I thought they might have - one wanting to fight the world and slag off everyone on this sight, as they dont see it through his alcohol influenced mind - and parents ARE responsible for the actions of their children and ARE there to protect their children, but not by trying to start a fight - I was embaressed by two trust board members arguing in public about an issue that could have been resolved in a more suitable way.

I stand behind the goal every week and have seen this brewing - and I stand there for the light hearted banter and the forever optimistic hope that has us singing "were going to win 6-5" when we are 5-2 down,

If this infigting coninues it will see me and others either move to the sides of the pitch or not even turn up! What good is that for the club?

I am not blinkered and do belive there are major problems with the club but infighting is not the way to resolve it.

As a father I know protection of your family is your first thought, but what I was trying to show is that under normal times it would have been resolved through discussion, but now we are at each others throats due to the frustration of the clubs performance.

Your commitment Chris to the club is second to none and to you the dip in performance must be even more frustrating but this is when we need to pull together.

Lets put this issue behind us and move forward together, as that is what the club and more importantly the players need.

I had no problem nor continue to have supporting the rebels what ever happens, those who don't can just walk away..its your choice...I have been through worse times than we currently have at the moment..

Yes it might be blind stupidity, but supporting a team is what has to be done..

As for the incident yesterday...I was enjoying the game even though we were losing again have a pleasent and meaningful conversation with Ted Plenty, when Ryan came to me to say an incident had happen behind the goal, I ask him what had happened as you do, then I went over to BFR to ask him, his side of the story, quietly and collectively not voices were raised, but was met with (your should keep your kids under control ) again I ask what happened only to be met with more comments about my son, and that he was a little [****!!****]!! I tried to be resonable in the first instance, but with such nasty comments towards ryan ! I flipped I apologize to the persons listerning and watching , but I am afraid that any father would have done the same...

I had tried to see what had happened but was met with such nastyness the situation was inflamed !

I just wished that if BFR had a problem with my son he should have told me first ! not put his hands on my 12 year old and shoved him hard into the fence... I do take full responsiblity of my son but why did bfr not come to me to tell me that Ryan was annoying him, I would have dealt with it there and then...with Ryan...

And yes I would have gain control of him, despite he is only 12 years old and was playing around like most of the kids do behind the goal, and sometimes the Adults too...but becuase Slough were losing the frustrations were there for all to see...not good (including myself letting the side down) I apologize again for my lack of control....But I for one will never give up on my son nor the Rebels..what ever happens...

I for one find it shocking that our most dedicated fanbase can fall apart within a matter of one day, I find it hard to believe that the players and management can be spurred on by the sight of their support fighting amongst itself.

I for one always try to look on the positive side of a rebels game, be it win lose or draw, even if we get completely battered. I enjoyed the game yesterday we provided a lot of positive movement which just required a more confident touch from those upfront. Our guys can and do give a lot for this club its what comes with being a footballer, they try hard, but sometimes it doesn’t show through because of low confidence. Yes I was among those who disagreed with eddie’s choice of substitutions but we have to remember that he is the one qualified to do the job he is the one who is closest to the players, not us fans standing behind the goal. Many of us also noticed him talking to glen harris during the second half before taking him off. Yes he makes mistakes, yes were on a bad run by comparison to last season, but we have different players, and different coach to last season we all knew it was not going to be the same.

As for this incident behind the goal, im not going to comment on what happened as I was trying to watch the game, but im sure all parties were at fault it was a disgrace too see fellow rebels fans fighting over something which could easily have been avoided.

I will continue to stand behind the goal and cheer on the rebels despite how we play, the result and what happens between the fans. I remember standing behind the goal at 6-0 down against billericay last season where we were singing and joking behind the goal, but yet we all fall apart when we lose a few games. It doesn’t help when some fans come on here constantly moaning because were on a bad run, and insulting other fans and their opinions.

I suggest we all get back on the same side and those who don’t want to can go support some other team.

UP THE REBELS!

On reflection that's fair enough. Generally I don't like anonymous posts as I believe people should take responsibility for their views not hide behind anonymity. In this case however, I understand your motives and accept you were probably right.

I can see wot your saying anon but it was a father looking out for his 12 year old son, any father would do the same. Do you agree Ian ?

Yes, I do agree. Seeing the events of yesterday saddens me immensely however. Chris has been honest enough to come on here, put his point across and apologise to everybody for losing his cool. I hope BFR does the same.

More than that though, I hope they take the time to apologise to each other as both are hugely important members of our supporter base. Alternatively, if this is how behind the goal is going to be I'll be down the side as well. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I am not going to try to defend myself. My reaction to Ryan during the match yesterday was excessive, unwarranted and cowardly. Regardless of what had happened in the build up to the incident, my reaction was the wrong one and I regret it. I will apologise to Ryan when I see him and also to Chris who had every reason to be angry with me.

Following the incident I have resigned from the board of Slough Town Supporters Trust. My actions were not fitting of a representative of the Trust, or as a supporter of the club. I would like to thank my fellow board members for their support over the last 18 months and wish them well for the future. I will of course continue to support the aims of the Trust and become involved with future fundraising events.

I suspect that I may have lost a lot of friends yesterday and rightly so. My actions, though out of character, were reckless and irresponsible. I am ashamed of what occurred and vow to never let anything like it happen again.
