A minute's applause??

Personally I found that awkward and embarrassing.

 

Applause is understandable only at places like Celtic where you would have a braying sectarian mob trying to spoil the dignity of silence.

 

Let's not have any trendy applause in the future; a minute's silence is the way to respect the dead.

It is very unusual to have a minutes applause considering the point is for quiet remembrance of the person or event.

isn't applause in appreciation of a mans achievements a more fitting tribute at a football ground? leave the minute reflective silence for the graveside or crematorium.

Totally agree. George was an entertainer and a showman. It was appropriate to have a a minute's applause and it was done in a respectful and dignified way.

have to agree i thought it was fitting less sombre and tbh i hate minutes silence i find it a little depressing although i appreciate why they do it.

they did the same at the wolves v saints game yesterday on tv, i thought a more fitting tribute than a minute of mourning, im sure that best would have wanted people to be celebrating his football genius than being sad
