Canvey 1 1 Cambridge

A bit fortunate to get a point to be honest. We played OK in the first half and deserved our lead but second half we looked jaded and conceded another soft equaliser.

If Cambridge could have finished better they would have got the three points. Their forward Onibuje was a handful but could not finish to save his life.

We might have scored after 30 seconds if Allan Tait had connected better with the ball.

Lee took his goal well. Great shot that the keeper could not keep out. We showed some good attacking play in the first half using the wings well.

The defence is still a cause for concern and at time Cambridge were queuing up to score. Chenners and McGhee as individuals did well but we make so many basic errors it is untrue.

Sedgy for me was Man of the match with a great performance in midfield and held it together when things got a bit tense.

Thought Mario and Keeling were a touch disappointing.

Bit of a game of two halves.

We started extremely brightly and moved the ball around well using the full width of the pitch. If only we had started the Tamworth game like that.

Felt overall that a draw was a fair result with Cambridge creating the "better" quality half chances.

Thought Lee was going to pass the ball through but he totally suprised me, and I feel the Cambridge goalkeeper, with a shot that the keeper could only parry back into his net.

Shame about the goal we conceeded - was Chenners fouled before the guy headered the ball over Potter?

Second half we seemed to struggle to get our rythm going again and got pushed back deeper which gave us very few chances. Passes started to go astray and were over struck although the rain sodden pitch didn't help.

A few of the players seemed to take knocks particularly during the second half - hope we don't have any injury problems before the Exeter game.

Lee Boylan had a cracking game it's a shame Alan Tait missed a couple of chances.

Lee's goal was going over and the keepers touch took the sting out of it if he left it, it was going over.

I was really happy with a point from the Cambridge match. Their pace up front was worrying, but a mix of fine saves from Danny and good defending ensured we only conceeded once, and that wasn't a break away either.

I thought Lee's shot was going over, luckily the keeper didn't! Credit to him for taking the shot on though, Lee's eye for goal is what makes him a quality striker.

Overall, well happy with a point, roll on Saturday!

I would have been happy with a point from this lot at the start of the season, but seeing how they are struggling this year I had hoped playing them at home we might have got the win.

I thought Minton had one of his best games for a long while Saturday. He was tackling back and quite a few times won the ball back for us in and around our own penalty area. OK he didn't surge forward as often as we'd all like but he was darting around trying to win the ball back all game, and that's what I want for a captain. He's not done enough of this in the last few weeks, having a strop when he's lost the ball rather than casing back to regain it. He definately redeemed himself this week though.

I think we've lost 5 points, rather than gained a point these last two weeks. These were definately games i would have hoped we'd win, if not expected to. If we'd have won these two games we'd have been 9th/10th.

Then again if we'd have won all our games we'd have been Chelsea. Where's the fun in that?

Agree about Mints. He worked his socks off on Saturday and gave his all for the entire 90 minutes. A great captain's performance.

I must have been watching a different game, I thought he was OK but definetly not good enough if we are going to live at this level. To me Minton is one of our problems, we rely to much on him, he loses the ball to easy and does not work hard enough to get it back.

But that is my opinion.

I didn't think it was Minton's best performance, but what he did do well was track back. Going forward I didn't think he was anything special, but while defending I thought he made some very timely interceptions.

I think his best game for us this season was away at Forest Green, they couldn't handle him at all.
