scrappy first half with the difference being an excellent 20 yard volley from billy holland...1-0 to the urchins...

 

scrappy again in the second for 15 minutes until tiffers scored an excellent goal to make it 2-0 urchins...that cued a transformation in the urchins team and from thereonin we controlled the game with some excellent attacking football...

 

billy holland again in the 89 minute to make it a comfortable win in freezing cold arctic conditions with a superb red and white army turn out of over 170 fans...

 

the brentwood goalie was mom for me which says it all really...charlie bull was lively and dangerous when he came on and I'll leave the rest to daggsy 04...

 

well done everyone and great hosts at brentwood..their bar is being run dry as I type.... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Good win if not good football for the whole game. Pleased Charlie Bull got on. Good for the future with Charlie, Billy and Billy being so young. Respect to the singing of the young urchins in the stand who took on THE Brentwood fan - top qaulity entertainment. This is also good for the future as these young fans will be the future.

Au contraire - it was a pleasant mild day - temp was three degrees at the start, and two at the finish - what more could you want?

 

Wind speed of 25 mph gave a nice refreshing wind chill factor of minus six, and some invigorating showers combined to make this the kind of day that we all love and enjoy.

 

I was also most impressed with Ian's new wooly bobble-less bobble hat, which fitted nicely over his bluetooth, and which made its debut appearance.

 

And just in case anyone has not noticed, Burnham had a narrow three nil win over Barkingside.

Topman Dagsy! and yes the bobbleless tea cosy made an appearance!

Tell yer wot, our lads very quiet today until THE Brentwood fan piped up and got our young uns goin

and didn't they do us proud!

Good 3 points against Lance, Tony M and Co.

A very well done to their Chair John and me ol' mucker John behind the bar.

Also Rebecca and Charlotte in the Burger bar, the diet version wuz superb!

Glad to see Billy's Boots are back on again, he played very well. Defence were top drawer with Mickey C pulling out a couple of very good stops, which must have been hard bearing in mind his lack of action during most of the 90.

 

Burbs got himself injured with a daft tackle giving Billy Drake the chance to shine, something I felt he did with his constant harrying of their defenders.

 

Generally a great performance with no weak points. OK, we should have killed them off sooner, but you cannot argue with 3-0. Bring on Barkingside now to put some more distance between ourselves and the pack.....

 

How valuable will those 6 points against Burnham seem come the end of the season? VERY me thinks.

Not at all, I think we will do better that that, but all the preseason chat was about Burnham being in there amongst the contenders and on current form you'd have to take them seriously, so I'm glad we beat them twice.

I'm glad old Jimmy enjoyed the banter, he played pretty well, as you say, but Greg and Billy's finishes were top drawer.
