A really good result today - Chris Giles and Darryl Clare are not the worst strike pair in the league, so our young defence can feel really proud to only concede the one goal.

According to Mike and Chas, both Ross and Bobby were immense today. And the new blokes aren't too sad either.

I will maintain my doubt as to Liam's tactical acumen at this level, but he certainly seems inspired at acquiring unknowns who turn out to be exception talent.

Well done Liam et al, I am a really happy bunny tonite, especially as Scallingham got thrashed and my favorite Tunisian saw red again!!

Bossed the game for the first half. We were having a bit of de ja vues in the second after the Altrincham match. They had a carbon copy of their first goal ruled offside.

CG, we really did have to 'dig in' in the second half. That said Phil Smith in the Crawley goal made and excellent save to stop Coleman making it 3-0 and then pushed an effort over the bar shortly afterwards. Some may argue he was lucky to be on the pitch following his first half clash with Coleman, I was too far away to judge.

 

Too many balls played skywards again, thought I was going to go home with a neck ache.

 

You can't argue with three points though, and very welcome they are too.

 

As for Crawley they appear to be in the midst of second season blues. I'm sure they will eventually climb the table under John Hollins' or is it Joan Collins, stewardship !

Just got back. A game of two halves. No Skinner, no Protheroe and Jackson on the bench. Why, what have they done wrong? We were shaky for the first fifteen minutes, but once we scored from a free kick just outside the area, we took control. Charlie and Coleman make a good strike force. Bradley gets into the spaces that Coleman can see. Coleman and Bradley have strength to hold up the ball and vision to pass balls to players who are in space.

 

Second half, God knows what Daish said, but we struggled. Crawley spent most of the game camped in our half. With Charlie gone we hadn't got a clue. Moore was too lightweight, so Coleman didn't get any help. Usual 'hoof it and hope from both sides', with little on the ground. Crawley had untold chances to score, we were lucky to get the win, a better team would have murdered us.

 

Daish a word to the wise, have more than one game plan for each game. We were hoping you could stay at Crawley and we could have John Hollins.

Thought our first half performance was very commanding. We could of been 4 up at the break.

Omari Coleman looked very good and took his goal well.

 

Thought Andy Drury was unlucky not to of scored.

 

Second half wasn't so good and Crawley played some decent football at times but the end result is what counts a nice 3 points for Gravesend.

 

I thought the Crawley fans were very over the top today. One of our fans got grabbed around the neck and moaned at over very little and the stewards did nothing about it! If it was caught on CCTV he would of be banned for violent behaviour. How he didn't get ejected out of the ground I'll never know.

Bit cheesed off as this would have been an away game I could make, but for having to work in crappy Liverpool this week.

Still, will be there for the Morcambe game - another 3 good points will cement our mid table position in readiness for a late surge towards the play offs.
