Michael Barima, Sean Hankin and Lee Flynn have all left the club this week to make way for two new defensive replacements, although 'nothing is concrete yet' according to his Lordship.

Lee Clarke will definitely start on Saturday at Scraley Road, where apparently 'we will need men out there, we need to show a lot of character, and need to be totally focused' (fine words indeed, ed.)

Scott Cousins will probably play on Saturday, but is suspended for the HSC game against Hemel and the trip to Weston for allegedly abusing the referee after being sent off at Kettering.

So Rob. Let me get this right. Three defenders have left the club and Scott Cousins will "probably" play on Saturday. Hmmnn.

Might Ben Walshe be one of the two "new defensive replacements" that may be asphalted? [Thinks! Memo to Colin. Walshe is a left sided attacking midfield player]

Where do you get this stuff, Rob?

to be fair it's always going to prove difficult to get the `right' players during a season rahter than pre-season.

I have been quite impressed with the over all quality of the player that Colin has brought in but can see that as yet it's not quite there yet in defence.

I don't think we'll get Jimmy as he's now a central figure at lewes.

Hi AFF

OK, I admit I added the 'probably' bit myself, but seeing as we're down to one part-time full-back (Chris Seeby) I think it is a fair assumption he'll play, unless we go for three at the back <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

The rest you can read for 35p in the St Albans/Harpenden Observer, the paper that calls a 2-2 draw a 'defeat'.

O.K. Rob. No need to apologise further. I think that t'lad will play, too. Don't even breathe "3 at the back" on here. We have to get Colin back to the 4-4-2 that we all know and love.

I know that he's showing promise as a manager, but he has got to stop thinking that the 'Chelsea' thing might work.

You have overlooked that he saved The Mighty Saints from what appeared to many to be certain relegation, last season. And on a limited budget. And this season, the side is playing very good football indeed. Everything beforehand is of limited interest at the Fortress, Rob2!

"Shows promise". Hmmnnn. I think that his best years are in front of him.

[if you know the chap, you might mention that AFF said 'Stick to 4-4-2'.]
