Fuzzy predicts........

I haven't seen many matches this year (and you may so that is obvious from my predictions) but whenever I watch, or hear reviews of matches it is always the same. We dominated this part of the match, we were in control for that part of the match; silly mistake in defence let a goal in; ended up chasing the match but had no one to put it in the net; just not good enough over 90 minutes!!

If this is true then we are surely only a few players away from an average side that can sit modestly in the bottom third of the table and avoid relegation comfortably. All we need are a few wins in a row and we are off. I believe a fully fit squad is capable of this, but the first step is always the hardest and we all need to believe we can take that first step get ourselves to safety. I have seen nothing in this division that is fantastic, nor have I heard of any team that is so good it will run away with the league and make the rest of the league look poor.

This year is not the year to lament that with a slightly above average team we could be looking at a play off place, that is for next year when we stay up and DC gets to build on a side that finished the season strongly.

Any comments welcome but would appreciate some honest opinions not just matt & woody babbling endlessly in very poor English and then arguing about how drunk woody got on stella (amusing as that is to read) <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/afro.gif" alt="" />

Fuzzy, you and I must be the only Windsor supporters who Woody hasn't spoken to as he reckons everyone agrees with him that we're crap, facing relegation and should sack the manager!

Thank God there's someone else on here who actually knows something about the game, we'll just have to talk to each other and ignore the merchants of doom!

after doing some of the player interviews for the program i must sya that many of them believe windsor to be a top 6 side so i would question what is going wrong.if the players think that we are that good then is everybody under achieving?

i won't talk about relegation yet but if things haven't started to look up by christmas then i have to say i think i would have to worry.

Yeah but Matt you did do that back in August where lets be honest we all hoped for at least midtable and not a relegation fight and if they did they'd hardly want that printed in the Programme would they!!!!

Next two home games are so vital. Win those and beat the Sluff and maybe...just maybe we could build on that.

P.S Can anyone tell me when we last won two league games back to back!?

Fuzzy and Mal

With the form the club has been in recently you have to understand that people are going to be disappointed. We start the season by saying we're going to be a top six side and everyone feels quite happy and a few signings that everyone felt happy and confident about. Things in the league were not going our way but we were winning a few cup games that gave us hope of improvement. Players started to come and go and there was no balance or regularity about the team, We then went out of all the cups and still performing poorly in the league. Merchants of Doom maybe right but I feel it is justified.

I do not think that we're crap (but maybe under-achieving), facing relegation (looks like it at the moment though) and should sack the manager! (I do not agree with this either but I am not sure what to do in this situation).

Mal this is a very stupid thing to say especially when you are an official of the club. Thank God there's someone else on here that actually knows something about the game, we'll just have to talk to each other and ignore the merchants of doom! Lots of people are unhappy they are paying money to watch a team do well. They have a right to be unhappy and the freedom of speech to write when they are unhappy. This is a fans forum after all and you are the creator of it!!!

Hang on a minute, I have never once said anything about the side being crap, facing relegation or sacking the manager.

What is it exactly that i am supposed to have said that has warranted such a statement from you?

Humpty firstly I agree that a fans forum is a place to have opinions and the beauty of football is not everyone agrees and there’s a differing of opinions. I personally thought Peter’s comments in the last programme was valid, and I think people do need to take into account the injury situation. I know it’s an easy excuse, but I’ll give you two examples. Firstly Jon Case, end of August, player of the month, he gets injured out until xmas. He’s is being paid a wage, that wage is still applicable when injured, so in terms of replacement, Dave cannot go over a budget, hence its hard to bring in a replacement of Casey’s quality. Secondly, Dave Warner and September player of the month, playing really well, starting to score goals, breaks ankle, against he’s being paid a wage, same scenario. Add to that all the other injuries, and you can start to see how difficult it must be as a manager when you have a budget and a huge amount of that is made of injured players at various times. So in essence the manager is trying to compete with a much reduced budget in terms of players he can get out on to the pitch. I’m not offering up excuses just trying to throw into the equation things that managers have to juggle which others don’t necessarily and understandably know. At our level if you have a long term injured player you can’t always replace him with a player of the same quality. Now I know everyone suffers from injuries but I think most will agree this year Angela has been very, very busy!! Of course there are other aspects, particularly in regard to suspensions but I thought that may clear up a number of your points regarding inconsistent team selections etc.

Well said Geggy, although we do seem to pick up a lot of injuries. When we were flying high in the league and needed only a few wins to gain promotion or at least a play off position we had a nasty injury list that cost us dear.

Is our trainging good enough/strong enough (genuine question, not having a go at anyone just that if we are picking up lots of injuries is it something we are doing wrong rather than just the physical nature of the league)

I guess the big question is how do you get a team playing as a team if you are being forced into changing it every week.

If we can get he same team playing week in and week out with only a few first team "regulars" missing then I genuinely believe we are capable of pulling ourselves out of this mess. We have all seen that we have the quality in players, but the team has been missfiring. Easy to blame the manager but what can he do if he has to rethink his team every week.

I wonder, if we had won a few games at the start of the season and had a little bit of confidence, would the ball have gone in off the post/rolled over the line/snuck in under the bar etc.. It probably would have done but we need to move on and look forward.

It would be interesting to have a players comments' forum to hear what they think. We all see certain players who we think do/don't give a damn and who we all think do/don't put the required effort in.

Love or hate Dennis Greene he always said his bit and always interacted with the fans (maybe a bit too much) but you believed he and his team cared and so you cared a little bit more. It helped us support the team and therefore the team in the end.

Just a thought to try to get a bit of momentum and morale going atthe club to turn the current tide of pessimism.

The other problem we have is people putting alot of effort into getting posters up around the town and trying to gain extra support for the club. With the results we have been having this makes it alot harder to entice people.

Humpty, apart from the grammar and picking on poor old Malcolm [LOL] where exactly does it say you can't post your feelings or shouldn't be unhappy with the situation?

You are as entitled as anyone to voice your opinion but it doesn't mean everyone has the same opinion as you! If you read my post again carefully I made comment about a particular comment Woody made previously on another thread whereby he stated every Windsor supporter agreed with him and that, quite obviously is not the case as Fuzzy, myself and now you agree that we don't agree with his comments!

You had a pop about not saying things like that in my position at the club but first and foremost I'm a supporter who happens to do other things, surely I'm as entitled as anyone to have an opinion? What you will not find me doing on here is slating players, making false accusations [like someone last week] or asking for the manager to be sacked and that's not because I'm the secretary of the club but because I believe those sort of things shouldn't appear on a club forum anyway!

Most of the people on here don't use grammar but still understand what people are trying to say. I don't mind admitting my English is not that good but I also never made a statement of saying it was in the first place.

I know not everyone has the same opinion as me and I don't try to force it on people. Most of the time I act as mediator.

I take back my statement about your position in the club and what you said. It was very stupid on my part. You are entitled to your opinion.

I also dont slate players, make false accusations or ask for the manager to be sacked. Has Woody really said this?

I have been watching Windsor long enough now to see enough ups and downs and watched them all! (especially being relegated 3 seasons running)

All clubs have bad spells it normal. There is nothing the supporters can do about it. Only the people who have direct dealings with the club and team have the means of changing things.

So us supporters will just have to suck it and see.
