Let me get this straight.

 

In August the Duo signs a right footed yank defender who generally plays on the left because he has both feet and quality on the left is always an asset. He starts the first three games at left back. With an injury to the left mid, the yank defender is moved up to left mid because he has ability with the ball. Naylor plays very well at left back and ought to stay. After a subpar eighth game (7 -1- 0) the yank defender is pulled from the line-up. When he returns it is as a right mid where he plays another game or two. He is in and out of the midfield mix for playing with a too defensive posture which is publicly called “tiredness”. Now they are bringing in a yank for a look at right back?!

 

Do I have it right?

 

Anyone know the name of the new yank and what teams he’s played for?

Hmmnn.

 

I don't know anything about football but I assume that every player in the Ryman Premier is two-footed [with the possible exception of Spencer Knight]. Obviously most will favour one foot over the other.

 

You infer that Becket prefers to play on the right. Surely Robbo and Cookie know his abilities? Looking at team selection over the past few weeks, and setting rotavation or whatever it's called on one side, Becket seems to be 'cover' for Naylor, Smith and Castle although I seem to recall that he came off the bench to play on the right of midfield in the Hayes game [some of the best football of the season in the first 45 minutes, as I remember someone said - not me, though.]

 

The pecking order at right back appears to be Ryan/Evo then Gould and I don't think that any of them are 'natural' right backs. [best not to appear critical or The Duo might be tempted to experiment with 3 at the back again. They could do worse than select The Chairman at right back before we go there!]

 

Therefore, I'm not surprised that The Duo are looking at another. To that extent, you do appear to have got it right.

 

No, I don't know who he is.
