For us exiles could anyone advise who played well etc.

How did Allman play.

Did the midfield lok better tonight with Standen McGowan and JK (has CK given up on Baxter already)

Did Corbett impress in his 10 minute cameo.

Any sign of Gradley there and nearing fitness?

any input appreciated

CORBETT-I dont think managed to get a touch of the ball.

ALLMAN-Looked good in the left back role.

KEISTER-Too many balls given away easily.

MITTEN-Too casual with picking the ball out of the air tonight. Let slip a couple but retrieved.

STANDEN-Better corner kicking, nice & hard with pace. Some wayward passes but overall did his bit tonight.

EDWARDS-Brilliant in all areas tonight.

All others did well equally.

Definitely Bill Edwards MOTM but altogether a good team effort.

And as well as Bill's goal didn't he have a pretty good long distance shot just after. Would have been great to see him get on the score sheet twice.

Mitten carrying injury. Right thigh / hamstring strapped up. Donovan or Edwards taking his goal kicks.

Frustrating night again but a goal from everybodies hero billy worth the 150 m round trip. My daughter last saw a home match at hartsdown on the 18th sep 2001. That night we went top of the conf the leading non league team in the nation. But if this team give this gutsy performance for the rest of the year eventually we will be back. Fantastic goal from BILLY going only one place and then he nearly scored the winner. Good performance tonight though spoilt again by a ref who lost the plot at the end. Yigas tackle no more worse than hundreds of others on the night. Billy was great. No better than that.

I thought Allman looked great at left back not scared to have a shot. Taylor also looked lively, ref diabolical no way was that a red. Bill mr margate Edwards, great header and allround performance. Credit to CK for finding these players at this stage of the season. Even after letting sacha go

Interesting to note most clubs had below average crowds last night. I guess seeing Man U screw up on the telly was more tempting than standing in the freezing cold.

AFC Wimbledon 2,093

Margate 401

Hampton 376

Billericay 241

Slough 191

Staines 176

Walton 172

Heybridge 143

Leyton 115

Harrow 94

And what about poor old Ashford in the First Division? Mind you Homelands is not the most inviting place at the best of times!

Ashford 105

Met Police 82

Ramsgate 224

Molesey 90

Whyteleafe 119

So much for FF's 320 ish then at Southwood.Only a nigh on 40% overstatement.

Am very surprised by the low attendance at Hampton considering they were at home to Fisher..But as you say the footy on tv didnt help with crowds last night.

The weather too would have put some off.

"Cookie",Corbet had one touch and moved around with purpose. As you said in a ealier post he was only on for a few minutes, but the body language was good,as i said he moved with purpose. As for Dean Standen, no one can critisise is effort ,it is the tackling or lack of it,i can only remember one actual tackle in the game.Allman did okay,on the occasion he got himself into trouble he worked hard to regain. Charlie Mitten did drop the ball a couple of times ,considering he is playing through the pain barrier, thigh, toe,( why he wasn't taking goal kicks)he did ok.Young sesay,in my opinion continues to improve,as does Donovan.Mcgowan will come into his own in a settled side,we hav'nt seen the best of him yet.JK,was not at his best.Kola, very solid, fought well for balls.Adolph played well, plenty of movement but again(as with Taylor)with his heightand long high balls he was fighting a losing battle against big solid defenders.Taylor has ball skills by the bucket full, the way he skinned his marker. When we get the midfield sorted and cut out the long ball, we will see the best of him, definatly a prospect. Yiga, as CK said after,He deserved to go on saterday but not last night,he played the ball. Why was'nt the player who sythed sesay early in the second 1/2 not removed.Yiga is another one who i believe could be around for years.I spoke to Greg Oates after the game,he is coming on ok,he is to have an Xray in three weeks then hopefully if ok the will put on a removable fibreglass splint so he can play. Finaly, BILL EDWARDS,i have put his name in capitals because his was a capital performance,Got forward 3 times, put in a great cross, headed one in and had a shot just over.BILL your the man.Is Hasim back for saterday.Believe me,in the long term things are on the up,as they say watch this space.

Sorry BB must have missed that one touch of Corbetts.

On the Sesay thing and I know I harp on about it a lot but when he did get brought down did anyone notice the ease in which Sesay rounded the player. This is my point.Whilst he is doing an adequate job in the full backs role his full worth isnt being displayed by being there. He tackles hard for a youngster and gets involved. The more games he seems to be getting the more coinfident he is becoming. But he should be back where he belongs and taking the wing mans role. He loves attacking the full backs and if that tackle last night were a little way forward a penalty for sure would have been given. So even though his adventurous attacks on the forwards may not always come off he does give us that added chance of getting a penalty or a free kick in a dangerous position for the oposition, by his trickery. We need a decent full back to take his place but he HAS to moved forward for his attacking qualities that he most surely has on that wingonce that has been sorted. He is never afraid to take people on and I think not only would this help with our form and results it will also give us supporters a bit more drama and excitement. He is fitting in well & doing his job adequately but theres so much more in his locker if he is played in his more attacking role.

Yes did recognise the ease at which he went past. The opponents know they are under pressure when he moves. I agree wing back is not his best position, hopefully in the "next few weeks" he can return to his natural game. I hope we have him on a good contract as i think he along with Hasim he will be our next Sodje. Strikers are our main problem at the moment,We will know loose Yiga( 6 or more?),the other 2 big guys are not upto it.As i have said Taylor and Adolph are not big enough to carry it alone.Does any one now what the Hampton defense is like,is it better than fisher's. If not, then they are beatable.
