Providing he can stay free from injury, it would appear that Daish has been successful in securing the services of half of a potent strike force in Charlie MacDonald. (He now needs to find the other half).

 

From memory MacDonald signed a 1 year contract at the beginning of this season. If he carries on the way he is going and he reaches the 20 plus goals that he predicted he would score during this season, then it is likely that we may struggle to keep him after this season finishes, especially if he is out of contract.

 

I would suggest therefore, if it isn't happening already, that approaches be made, as a matter of urgency, to extend his contract for at least one further season, or possibly for an additional 2 extra seasons.

 

The club hasn't got that many true Conference quality players. They do have one in Macdonald, everything possible needs to be done to make sure he stays.

well said that man. Altho I presume Charlie would want to play further up the chain, so can't really see him committing himself to anything long term.

read the non league paper a few weeks back had a bit on charlie and it said he didnt like the way liam played didnt suit his game plus he didnt want to leave crawley either, make your own minds up if he will still be here next yr.

Further to my recent post about the need to extend Charlie Macdonald's contract by 1 or 2 seasons, after Saturday's performance I would also try to get agreement to extend Ross Smith's contract also.

And Craig Holloway, of whom mant descibed as "useless" after a couple of games.

Now proving to be an exceptional keeper.

I still cannot believe he tipped over that piledriver on Saturday.

Cannot wait to see it again on Conference TV.

No doubt you are referring to my comments, amongst others, about the goalkeeping situation at the club earlier in the season.

I did not however make any adverse comments about Holloway, how could I as I did not see him play very much at the start of the season. I was however very critical about Aaron Kerr, who I still feel would be a liability should Holloway not be availbale for any reason.

I seem to remember that particular comment came from Riverview Red, WVN. I think we can all agree that Craig HAS benefitted from full time football. His handling appears to be much more confident, there has never been any questions about his shot stopping - the biggest improvement seems to be in his distribution. A couple of times he aimed his drop kicks long, low and hard into the proper channels for Charlie and Anome to run onto.

Had Jukebox hit such an accurate 60 yard pass, everyone in the ground would have been purring!

Unfortunately, the camera struggles a little to keep up, meaning it's very hard to tell on the footage whether the shot was saved or went wide of its own accord.

I liked Charlie's goal celebration on Saturday, he seems very keen on winning the golden boot!!

From where I was standing, you did not need to see it, you could hear the ball come off craig's hand. That ball certainly had some speed on it. great save.

Conf TV , as JC said, is a bit inconclusive.

As Craig obviously did get a hand to it, it can only be described as a sensational save.
