Here are two questions for you:

I mentioned earlier that Miguel De Souza has a perfect average of 3 points from one game. He sits in joint 1st place with another with 3 points from one game. Name that person.

So those two are joint first, and Bob Dowie is fourth. The person in third spot has 2.25 points from 4 games. Name him/her. Here's a clue: It's a him.

Hi Rob.

You have given me an idea for a few more questions:

Behind Bob Dowie in 5th place is a chap with an average of 1.92 from 13 games.

Behind him is a person with 1.84 points from 50.

Sid Prosser is 7th.

Between Sid and Colin in 8th is a fellow with 1.78 from 27 games.

Then Mitch is 10th.

Name 'em.

I'm working on it as we speak/write, JKiF.

Do you want the Dewey-Decimal method of storage or are you a Shawl man?

Before anyone rushes in to give 'weight' to the budgets allowed to the various Managers, it would be appropriate to feed in a further factor. If Gibbo allocates a lower budget, but pays it [as he surely does], then Managers who had the misfortune to be allocated a higher budget which wasn't actually ...err, ...err, err.... what's the word that I'm looking for?.. paid, [Heaven forbid the very thought], should have an upwards allowance of, what shall we say, 1.2839% to their points total and thus average.

I suggest that any manager with Steve Clark in his squad should have his figures reduced by a factor of 0.8956.

Good morning Rob.

One out of three wouldn't be bad, Rob, but you're not yet at that level.

As it's the season of goodwill, I'll confirm that Bob Murphy is one of the names that we, or more accurately, you, are looking for but not in 5th slot. The other two aren't.

[No weightings have been allowed at this point, it's the simple maths. John Kendal's points tally is the subject of the greatest level of the allowances that I proposed above and, unless my calculator is on the blink, he is up to something like 4.9845 points per game. It's still going through the computer thingy. On simple maths, he is outside the top 10.]

Hi Laz.

You are my banker for these sort of questions. Well, you were!

Erskine was never at the helm, and while we are about it, Kendall didn't quit, he was err.... err... replaced by Roberts and Cook. I think that the last three months of that season with the err... errr.... er.... financial difficulties were enough. He didn't like to see players jerked off.

Just for clarity, by the way, the list is, indeed, 'all time'. However, before the Second World War, and for a brief period subsequently, there weren't 'managers' in today's sense of the word. The team was selected by a Committee of the great and the good.

The statistics don't show their results but I'll suggest to my source that the idea merits some research over a quiet week-end.

Not replaced, he was dismissed.

Surprised to here no mention of trashing the company car either. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/hump.gif" alt="" />
