Aldershot Town Good one for getting pissed. Everyone's up for a bit of a laugh and winding up the locals. Normally a police escort back to the station afterwards too. ****

 

Bedford Town Easy on the train, 40 minute journey, plenty time to sink a couple of bottles of champers. Everyone's always well up for it too. And we hate Bedford. ****

 

Boreham Wood No where near long enough for a good drink at just over 10 minutes. Long walk to the ground too, although if you're swigging from a can in the high street, you tend to blend in with the locals. **

 

Canvey Island Everyone's always well up for getting pissed going to Canvey (familiar theme recurring, I think!) and it's usually the most fun away trip of the season winding up the Islanders. Even though we always lose. *****

 

Chesham United Did it once by train. Cost a fortune, took an age and you have to change about six times. *

 

Grays Athletic Did Grays on the train for the first time this season. Similar to Canvey in length of journey, and level of pissed-ness, but we don't hate Grays as much. ***

 

Hampton & Richmond Borough Don't make the mistake of getting off at Richmond like we did. Nevertheless, a good beery trip and Hampton come pretty high up in the clubs that EFM hate. ***

 

Hendon Journey is not long enough at just 15 minutes for a good piss-up, and then there's a bit of a walk too from the station. They've recently put a ban on cider cans in the ground too. **

How did Bishop Stortford rate?

Bishops Stortford Totally pointless train journey. Takes an hour and a half and you have to go via Tottenham!! The ground is miles from the station too. Plenty of time for drinking though. *

 

Kingstonian Nice easy train journey into London, so plenty of drinking while relaxing in that First Class train carriage. Make sure you finish your drink before entering the ground though or they nick it and throw you out. Bastards. ***

 

Maidenhead United Quality drinking trip via Paddington. Normally a good piss-up and there's a Q's pub outside the station for continued drinking. Ground only a short walk too. And the PA System is easily accessible!! ****

 

Sutton United One of my favourites. An hour and a half journey but straight through on train, so no interruptions - just non-stop drinking. Once you get to West Sutton, you fall off the train straight into The Plough, then out the pub and straight into the club bar! ****
