Was a must win game against these, so well done to the lads, lets hope for another 3 against Bromley on Tuesday! By the way they beat Billericay 1-0 today, not a great start for Warren Ryan!

3 points is what matters today. What a massive relief!

Not heard of Baxter.

Allman was at Woking and looked shaky to me when we played them in the Conference but that was against Leon Braithwaite at his best. Came through the youth at Charlton and was highly rated as a youngster (think thats already been mentioned).

Charlie Taylor was at Hornchurch last year. Heard he was a raw young striker. Not seen him but apparently a good prospect.

Dont agree that "if we play like that on Tuesday we will struggle". Ok, we weren't brilliant but, to be honest, I don't think we ever looked like conceding, and we were deserved winners IMO. A good, professional win, I feel. Thought Baxter looked lively until he came off, had some good touches. Taylor, for me, seems to be similar to Rocky - clearly has the talent but possibly a bit lazy. Allman was solid at the back. All in all, three good signings, I feel. I must say that I think that is the best away day since Maidenhead: vocal support was brilliant today. Well done Blues! Onwards and upwads!

We needed a win. We got one. Good enough for me.

Darren Baxter looks to be a great signing. A bit of a powerhouse in midfield with some classy touches.

Nice and solid at the back. Kola, Bill and James were all very good today and the new guy looked steady too.

Agree good support - the lads also responded to it in a very positive way.

In the first half we were 'guilty' of playing some attractive football. Bearing in mind that, once again, a quarter of the team hadn't played in a blue shirt before - the performance was great. Taylor and Amoako worked well together, Taylor is not afraid to hold the ball up and looked quite comfortable in the first half. Credit to Sesay for the through pass that resulted in the goal.

The second half fell to pieces as far as the football was concerned and turned scrappy. Sesay was booked for a rookie defending error, but luckily James Donovan, Bill, and Kola were strong in defence (in that order of merit), with every match James looks better as he gets fitter. Charlie looked a little uncertain in goal, but did save us with a tip over right at the end. Lawrence Yiga came on for Taylor and played quite well until his 'incident' - he was fouled on the right wing, and argued, then butted the defender. They were separated but then a number of other players went after him as a war of words escalated. I have no problem with the red, but was amazed that no-one from W&E got even talked to, there was more than enough reason for that ... though the Ref was closer to hear what was said.

Strangley we brought on Remy for Adolph almost straight away.Once again James Corbett (wasn't he supposed to have played a blinder in midweek for D&R reserves?) was there but not called upon ... what the hell's happening there?

All in all, not a brilliant game, but I think that, even against a side as poor as W&E, to hold on to a 1-0 lead for the whole of the second half is an achievement.

If Corbett is such a good asset then why is he not being allowed to contribute.I agree with Peter "what the hell is going on there". Do they only come back here when they have a knock or something? In which case he shouldnt be named as a substitute, surely.Would be nice to see, first hand, just how good he is supposed to be.

[color:"red"]quote (Chris1):A W&E player got a yellow after the Yiga incident.

[color:"blue"]If that was the case I stand corrected, but I thought their booking was after the Remy pushing incident a few minutes later.

A bit of a late post, but stand by my comment that whilst overjoyed at the win, i thought we played pretty poorly.

I try and find positives in most things, but thought today the gate were poor-not helped by an awful pitch.

Nothing created in midfield and thus no real chances for the strikers (in fairness, i guess first chioice midfield is Gradley(boy we miss him)JK and Deen and Standen.

My only comment re: Baxter is that on this performance he is not half as good as Charambolous !!!

Football is a strange game and we may play better on Tuesday, helped by being at home, but we do seem to have gone backwards from start of season.

In fairness the defnence looked solid especially Donovan and in time i do think Allman will slot in ok.But the midfield will not be good enough against a better side like Bromley to take some of the pressure off defence

I saw the Bromley away game and we were a bit lucky to get the draw.If the performance is like saturdays, we will lose 4-0.

Unfortunately, you can't see how the side can be improved before Tuesday.Quality player in Deen still away and suspended.

I guess JK will come in for Baxter, but it will need a 200% improvement on Tues to avoid a hammering.(maybe also Corbett may give us 60 minutes of quality !!)

But Tuesday is another day

Having siad all that above, we are in 16th position, and if we finish in 16th, i'll regard that as a satisfactory season.

Never had any great aspirations for this season anyway, and i would take 16th.

I do have a concern though ,thast on current form, 16th may not be easy to achieve !!

Just disappointed we did not have better cup runs
