Very glad to get three points but unlike some of the postings above I wasn't very impressed with the performance.

Quite agree... Thought we were lucky.

Their defence was slow and by far the worst we've played against this season. But they still created more chances than we did ! just poor finishing let them down.

On that performance they must be favs to go down, and we won't be too far above them.

Lets not get too excited as if we play like that against a more clinical strike force we will get stuffed.

The 3 points were greatly received and consolidates our mid table position, but apart from Charlie mac and Ross smith I thought we were very average.

Up the Fleet ... and lets build on this and get a victory at Crawley next week.

A bit harsh perhaps - he was involved in quite a lot in the first half. By no means a nailed-on MOTM performance, though, I'll agree.

Yes, so over the 90 minutes on balance of play we only just about did enough, and on the evidence of that spell in the second half we could quite easily have been punished by more clinical sides, but it's got to be better than most of our performances over the last few weeks. I can understand people's reservations - beating a newly promoted side at home doesn't make everything all right - but at least it's a step in the right direction.

I thought without Bobby in midfield, as normal we would be playing our up and over game, so thought he was immense. Also, as you may be able to guess through a whole thread dedicated to him, Luke Moore had a very good game as well.

There again, opinion is opinion and if you don't think they played well fair play. It's an opinion forum after all!

Thankful for the 3 points.......but god what an awful game.

It was just as well that Altrincham were poor as I fear the result would have been far different had the game been against most other sides in the league. Even then the Fleet did their level best to throw it away again in the last 20 minutes.

Would someone please tell me what on earth all of the hype and excitement was about at the start of the season, when it was announced that we were to sign James Smith from Welling United.

His performances so far make me think that someone at Welling must have seen us coming. I know he is young (?) and whilst I am not doubting his fitness levels he is so slow and looks way out of his depth in the Conference. A percentage of any 'sell-on' transfer fee looks safe, certainly at this stage anyway.
