Invitation to a Talk on Racism in Football t - Gabriele Marcotti and Piara

Received the below on an email following on from a thread which was started last week by BFR which may be of interest.

 

"I am writing to you on behalf of Fennerfest to invite you and any members of Slough Town FC to come to a talk this Thursday (17th Nov) on racism in sport (mainly football) and in society, at which the speaker will be Gabriele Marcotti (European football journalist of the Times, Talksport, and Football Italia on Bravo), Piara Powar of Kick it Out, and Fiona Mactaggart (Slough's MP, Home Office Minister, and former Race Equality Minister). The talk starts at 8pm, goes on till 9:30pm and it will be at St Mary's Church, Church Street, Slough (at the back of the High Street). There will be 5-10 minute introductory talks on the issues by the speakers then time for questions and debate from the audience. I would be extremely grateful if you could pass this invitation on to any people at Slough Town (board members, fans associations etc), so that they will be able to also attend the talk should they wish to."

A tad ironic that the town is hosting the talk when it can't even be bothered to host the club!!

Langley Rebel - I don't know if Martin is going. From your point of view I think you may find the meeting tonight a little boring for your liking, and lets not forget it clashes with your favourite soaps.

just back from business in finland...can't make it but plse inform them we are members of the football supporters federation and are backing the kick it out campaign...

I don't think the point of the talk is to promote Slough Town, Chris. Besides, I'm sure you've told Fiona this on many occasions while brown-nosing her
