"The Gills have an overdraft in the region of £9.5m but Scally is confident a solution can be reached. Scally told BBC Radio Kent: "It was a good meeting, the bank are very supportive..."

Really? I must go in and have another word with my bank manager about the charges on my £200 overdraft, then... Those gits were anything but supportive first-time round.

It's the age old argument of wether or not to feel sorry for your rivals.
On one hand you never want to see a clubgo out of buisness as it would mean heartbreak for a lot of people.
On the other we'd be the top club in kent and our attendances would boost significantly.

Would they?

If we went bust I wouldn't suddenly start supporting the Gills.

Am I in a minority of one feeling sorry for Gills fans here, its all very well having a go at Scally but he will have buggered off in a couple of years leaving a wrecked club behind him.

The problem is that I suspect Scally is hanging on in there in the hope that he can recoup some of the money that he invested over the years.

I think that the banks have merely delayed the inevitable.

Well he's hardly likely to admit that 'those bastards from the bank have given me 6 months to turn things round,' is he? That would create even more panic within the club.

On a serious note, I really cannot see how the Scally convinced his bank that he could eradicate a £9.5M overdraft in 2 years.

Unless he simply sells the ground and walks away from football.

Which is exactly what he said he would do earlier this year.

If he has mismanaged the accounts of a small club at a small stadium on a small budget that badly, I wonder where he expects to get his £60M to build a new ground.

Medway Council certainly haven't got it.

Perhaps Medway Housing Society will loan it.

And the pensioners, disabled and poor of the Medway Towns will have their rents increased again, as they do every year to maintain the MHS sponsorship of Gillingham.
