Score updates at half time on match-days

Wellsie

Recommended Posts

Cookie raised an interesting point in my mind about what scores you'd like to know about on match days. I try to give local and premiership half times, but it's tricky to do that together with the other stuff that I sometimes have to get through on the PA. So I would really appreciate your ideas and thoughts. What are your preferences - no guarantees but I'll do my best.

- Premiership only?

- Local (any competition) only?

- Local (our division) only?

- Combinations of above?

- Other major sports involving England team?

- Shut up and just play music? (Although to be honest that's MOST unlikely!)

Any other ideas?

Cheers, Wellsie.

For me it would be the other local scores..Ramsgate,Folkestone,Dover.(Just because I would like to know how they are getting on)

(p.s. I wasnt being ALTOGETHER serious with my previous post Steve as I am sure time is an essence to getting these out,as you say. There was a large element of jesting involved in that post, though I'm sure you noticed that)

Apologies to Cookie but the best bit about the Dartford game was his reaction when the rugby result was given out as he had recorded it to enjoy later. I know how you felt 'cos I like to watch Match of the Day without knowing the scores and every time manage to hear a few of them-other than that it's fingers in the ears but even then you can still hear so you have to make a noise with your fingers in your ears and then everyone thinks you're a nutter. Oh! the joys of going to football.

Cracking - that's great stuff, thanks. I'll focus on getting hold of the local / Ryman scores. Other points:

1. Hi Graham.

2. No worries Cookie.

3. Often the "benches" don't hold the borads up toward me in the PA box. But I'm hoping to fix that. Having said that, I did once get the numbers right ... but for the wrong side because the opposition boards were held up from between the dugouts!

4. I do have "Things can only get better" and have been known to play that after the final whistle!

Any other thoughts, keep 'em comin'

Able to bring my 12 year old daughter to the Dartford game and she did comment on the "old style music" being played.

I persoanally would prefer a mixyure of Queen and Celine Dion myself but there again I am an old fool with odd musical tastes!!!!

Keep the fans updated with the Kent team scores and maybe the odd freak Premiership one (like Fulham winning for a change)

Cheer leaders! I like your thinking.

As for music, I don't have any CD so safe there. I guess a "mix" of stuff is best given a little while ago someone said to me "you don't play much older stuff, do you?"
