Might have been re arranged to cater for Sky TV ? Have to open up the terrace for that one !! Otherwise Gary Birtles ( or whoever ) will just hear the stewards keep saying "feet behind the line please " "don't touch the rope please" etc.....although at least they are polite !

David - you mentioned Friday night games. Do you think a Friday night game will make any difference to attendances?

In all honesty I know the impact of our away crowd isn't going to make much odds but the thought of getting over that bridge on a Friday night may not appeal to many.

 

I used to watch Southend in the 80's when they played many a game on a Friday night and I don't think there was that much difference when they started playing on a Saturday. Certainly didn't make much of an impact on a 1,500 odd crowd in old Div 4. Will be interesting to see what happens and if it is deemed to be successful.

I would not dream of going anywhere near Tilbury any night of the week!! Anyway, too near that flea pit of a place called Grays.

Besides I have the "honour and privilege" <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> of working in the county of Kent so no problems with the bridge for me on a Friday night - normally it's the poxy tunnel <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Its immigration policy gone mad, I was totally against identity cards but if it can prevent this sort of scandal I am going to have to rethink my position.

Apparently I had the necessary skills to obtain work in Kent. Reading, writing and arithmetic. Apparently they were very pleased to find anyone with a CSE grade 5 <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

My main concern was not being innoculated before coming over the bridge - after seeing those chavvy kids last year at Stonebridge Rd there seems to be some mean looking diseases over this side of the water. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
