The ex-1 game wonders Fleet XI!

Recommended Posts

Continuing on from yesterday’s conversation between Jimmy, JC, Bernard and myself, plus a few posts on here I think it's time that we name and set in stone the full 11.

I think we should set some ground rules though. They can't be current squad players and friendly games don't count.

I would like to name Cedric Anselin.

I should also add that I'm boring myself already with this thread.

Also subs have to be people who appeared on the bench but never played.

Francis Kumbur, Ron Hillyard, Rio Alderton, Ashley Sestanovic etc.

For starters we could have:

Mott

Tann Fidyk

Anselin Plummer Daly Carter

Battersby Guy Peters

Just need another centre half.

It's a shame there are too many strikers (Tafazzul Islam and Derek Bryan are also possibles) and not enough defenders available for selection.

It depends whether you think Billy Bone, at a push, could be named at centre-back (he was really a midfielder I think).

As for the subs, Phil Handford was definitely named on the bench in a competitive match, but did he ever play in one?

Can we include the infamous Billy Logan...?

One game (unless I'm mistaken) which - not only fulfilling the criteria for appearances - also led to us being kicked out of the Southern League Cup due to being an ineligible player.

Truly a 1 game wonder!

(Clarification from one of our oracles required, please!)

Austin Berkley? Robin Trott? - managed something like 1 start in a season (Looked good too )

Just trying to remember the name of this winger Ford signed at the beginning of the season couple of years ago and he came off the bench once before going somewhere like Kettering or Tamworth. Think his surname began with G?

I seem to remember Eddie Maclements played only one game? He scored in a 1-0 win for Dartford at the weekend by the way.

For Harry's benefit, Messrs. Hegley (Maidstone) McKenzie (Tooting and Mitcham), Booth (Cambridge City), Gedling (twice for Burgess Hill Town), Parker (Maldon) and Stavroulakis (Eastleigh) also netted at the weekend.
