Team for Windsor

Mitten

Edwards Kola Keister Donovan Standeb

Sesay McGowan Corbett

Yiga Ameoko

First to agree midfield is weak, but they could just be inspired.I reckon JK's influence in midfield is too daunting for some of them, so lets ut him back at sweeper where he made all difference last year.I also note that JK always plays ball to the right-never the left so maybe we are not getting the best of him in midfield anyway

If you do not concede, you dont lose.

You start with nil against-don't giveaway the nil !!!

Put Edwards to right back and let him play like an old fashioned full back.

He never wins a ball in the air so whats the point of playing him in centre of defence. He does know how to defend though and has good positioning skills so full back is his position.Maybe a bit slow, but put Sesay infront of him to give extra cover and some pace.

Also Kola can cover Bill aswell and it would need a player of some class to get passed both Bill and Kola. With JK at sweeper, he has enough nous to avoid getting pulled out of position and would remain coverering in the centre

That allows Sesay to get up the flank most of time ,and put in crosses to likes of Yiga.Sesay has an experienced head in Bill behind him to cover him

McGowan and Standen can similarly interchange on the left.

The midfield is a bit weak ,but they may just be inspired, and alot of play bypasses midfield anyway.McGowan has potential to be a really good and commanding player though

If by chance Ryan and even Brayley were avalable next weekend, that would make a big big impact and improvement.

Throw in Deen and Gradley back in midfield in say 2 weeks and all of a sudden you have a really good side.

Deen,Gradley, Brayley and Ryan are all conference quality, so all of a sudden we woud have a really really powerful side.

Not sure who is current best bet out of Maxwell,Corbett(if fit) Hillaire in midfield -maybe Corbett on left if fit and Mcgown in centre

Maybe CK can sign a decent full back or two and we will be cooking on gas again

I see Darren Annon is playing in a bona fide right back role for Havant.

Another opportnity missed.

Why does CK perservere with wing backs.

No-one at this level is good enough to play in a proper wing back role.

Greg Oates fllfilled the role quite well in our second conference season, but even Greg is living on past memories of this role now.

When fit, Greg can play a full backs role, but at this level ,it is asking too much of any player for them to be a quality wing back.Just keep it simple, forget about the 'name' of the role, and go back to a simple but effective full backs role, who can overlap from time to time; if the team is sufficiently organised to cover the forward forays

Keep it simple.

Let defenders defend and attacker attack.

As above then, in abscence of any alternatives, play Bill at right back-at least he knows what defending consists of.

Won't Standen be suspended? What is the situation with Corbett? Assume he is on a match to match basis. Has he been injured for the past 2 months? Is Warren Ryan still with us? If so then Ryan at left back instead of Standen but otherwise agree with the team mentioned. Vital game as Windsor are one of the few teams below us at the moment. An earlier post from Blueblood mentions a possible 4 further signings may be imminent. So much for a settled side.

Against Dartford we seemed to play one wing-back, Sesay, who left their man unmarked for the goal. That's not to criticise him, just to say he is not a defender.

I would prefer to see a 'back four', a strong central midfield pair, two midfielders either side who can carry the ball forwards (wingers if you like), and two front men.

It's hard to nominate a team for next week because of not knowing who is available, but anyway here goes:

Mitten

Donovan-Keister-Edwards-Standen

Sesay-Kola-Gradley-Ryan

Yiga-Amoako

It still looks a bit fragile in midfield, but perhaps one of the '4 new players' being hinted at will turn out to be a tough holding midfielder.

According to Ken Tomlinson (bloke who did you report for the NLP) gave Sesay MOTM. So from what i have been reading on here makes his anaylise of the game sound odd.

Corbett WAS there or some one new anyway. As he was down as sub I doubt he wouldnt have been there.Standen I believe dosent get banned for two weeks yet.Open to correction on that but thats as I read the rules.

Isnt Deen back this week? I would replace Standen with him at the right full backs role.If he isnt available then call up Melvin or Big Ron to do the job.

Burke did well-Wasnt given a chance

Sacha did well-wasnt given a chance

Burke & Sacha were 10 times better than the placements that have come in.Maybe certain reasons for their departures but I know for a fact that Burke wanted regular match play & thats why he went.

If they had a,not so good game, they were discarded. In fact I never saw either HAVE a bad game.It confuses me. Sorry but Standen has an off day every game yet still gets picked to play, and even gets the captains armband.Corbett was raved about but as soon as he becomes available he is left on the bench instead of being used. If he's not fit he shouldnt be named as a sub. Something somewhere is wrong if these things are happening.

Yes Legend.I think most people got to speak to his dad whilst he was with us. Both he & his son seemed a little disallusioned with always being left out. When he did come on he showed most of the others up and did a really good job. But then he gets pushed into the background again. Weird!

CK buys or gets a new player in and what happens. He sticks them on the bench for months. All too often this happens and it shouldnt and I am not just talking about recently. This has occurred,I have noticed, for years now. Players when given a chance should take that chance but even when they do well they are brushed aside again. If a player warrants a place in the team they should get it irrespective of who's being left out to accomadate.Likewise if a player is off form then bring someone in who could perhaps do better. Those on the bench want to impress and thats what we need,impressing..Maybe this is yet another contributory factor why players dont want to come here or dont stay long.

In the case of Burke, whilst i only saw him in two brief cameo appearances, i did not get too excited about what i saw;and in this instance imo it was the right move for all.

I am a bit puzzled as to why he was signed in initial instance

Although I disagree with you Michael about Burke you do raise a good point. We have had many players come & go this season but the question has to be asked,as you say,why get them in the first place if they end up on the scrapheap? Is this yet another co**-up, but this time by the scouts or whoever finds these players & who watches these players in the first place and then puts them in touch with the manager or the other way round if thats how it works.

What we need is a stable squad, signed up for two years minimum so that they continue to blend into next season and to begin to form a TEAM. At the moment all we seem to get is "all change" all the time.We never know a new player has arrived until we turns up for the match and we see his name on the teamsheet for the first time.Give them two weeks and they will be discarded. We need stability within the team,a settled side, all getting to know each other. How can our team blend with all these changes everytime. If they are signed up for two years minimum and we survive a relegation again this year we will at least have a unity of players from the start on opening fixture next season who have got used to playing with each other.

I believe warren Ryan had personel problems on saterday.Hasim is away for another week which also covers his period of suspension.Spoke to leon on saterday, the knee is still sore,is also waiting for scan results. Pat Gradly hopes to be fit though obviously not match fit. the quote from CK was on radio Kent.Like you say Micheal, the Gaaaaate are close to a good side .
