Calmed down now and have realised that it was better than last week. Yiga was very promising but Corbett didnt seem that good. Second half showed commitment and determination but a lack of tactics and defence let us down. We just dont have the finish either. Adolf was only player that seemed in tune throughout with the rest of the players not in tune all game or only in spells

Just wondering where Dartford a dirty side? I am saying this as i remember the interveiws from Clive Walker and Parminter after both of their games against the Darts in the last round?

I'm obviously biased, but I thought we were okay today (I thought we were okay against Dover too though). Hafner's challenge was naughty, but I think it was mis-timed rather than malicious.

Don't think they were dirty at all. Looking at Standen's juvenile and pathetic reaction, I would say we were the 'dirtier' team today.

[color:"blue"]It seems strange, maybe a coincidence, but at Hartsdown Standen often gets involved in some petty 'fight' just in front of the away dugout. This must be the fourth or fifth time this season.

 

BTW no one has really mentioned it - where was Wazza? Conspicuous by his absence.

Agree with you Peter about Standen. If only he showed the same commitment in his football that he does in the 'incidents' he gets involved in, we might have a half-decent player on our hands.

A year ago, believe me the Darts would have lost today about 4-0! but since Tony Burman has taken over there has been a gradual improvment and we are now bearing fruit, our team is still very young and we are confident for the future, thanks again for being good hosts, Dover were the worst losers ever and they still are going on about us as if we were the dirtiest team ever!

I meant more from the point of view that he was moaning, and whinging (particularly about the "late" challenge in the first half - I felt our player went for the ball and it was there to be going for), but he did applaud us, and it was nice to see that even after defeat, there was a bit of dignity; something lacking in football today.

I dont think that Dartford were dirty at all . Hafner used to make those sort of chalenges for us too , not a dirty player at all just miss timed I think .

I didnt think there was dirty play by either team.One baddish tackle & the "I'm a big boy" bit by Standen but otherwise it was a good natured clean and absorbing game. No more to be said about the content of actual ball play on our part from the first half but all in all Dartford were extremely well behaved both on & off the field & our lads showed a bit more spirit in the second half.Shame we lost but there were signs of improvement today.Just hope the manager learns from it too.Just one more thing.Please play Sessay up front with Laurence & Amoako and get someone else at full back. Sessays talent is being wasted at the back though he has done himself justice in that position.He is an attacking forward full of flair,please use him to the full.

Sessay had a cross that put all the other players to shame, i think he did about 4/5 crosses, that if attacked properly could have all led to goals. A winger of some character, even at his age! He even took on men down the side and beat them, deffinitley a positive from today's game.

He has been a positive since I first saw him take players on in his first game. We need him in the position he thrives in..up front where he just loves attacking the full backs. Just think of how many penalties he could get us with this type of attacking flair.Even if he dosent succeed in rounding the player his touch on the ball will gain them for us.But then again CK dosent listen to us otherwise Standen would have been dropped ages ago and he most certainly wouldnt have been given the captains armband. Just remember that before today most of us were critisising him,so todays talk of his stupidity & lack of real talent hasnt just come out of the blue.

I think he's best of playing on the wing, maybe just behind the forwards, as he's the best player we have at providing a ball into the area. Then again, haven't seen his shot.

He is fast becoming the second Bill Edwards (no disrespect to Bill) in that he gets the ball and just hoofs it now. With Bill he looks first. With Standen he dosent. Thats the difference.

I was talking about Sessay, i think the best place for Standen is Ramsgate!
