You won't believe it!

Recommended Posts

I am a new OAP 65 and 11 days young!

This week on the Romford forum a tongue in cheek post called me an Old Git. Equally tongue in cheek I responded by making reference to the J Arthur Rank organisation and threatened to send Hell's Grannies to sort it out. You won't believe it but it appears that the Boro web site gestapo decided it was offensive and deleted it. The Boro Admin who ever he may be must be a real sad case and desperately needs to get a life. This Saturday was to have been my return to Rush Green following a long absence, after this fiasco I can't be bothered.

I am under pressure from 'er indoors to start going to footie again and I thought I might come over your place instead. Do you admit foul mouthed old gits like me, if so I'll be there on Saturday!

>>Hell's Grannies

The correct terminology is surely Hell's Senior Citizens.

And anyway, there is no point in you going to Rush Green as Briggs Sports no longer play there.

Your logical choice is Bridge Avenue, home of Havering's most successful team.

"Willow Street" - right along side Brooklands.

And here's one for all real supporters - which fifteen year old scored five goals in his debut for the real Romford, but only played twice more, before joining Hornchurch & Upminster?

And what is the Essex Senior League connection?

Nearly right Max.

It was Kevin Corbett. He scored five on his debut against Eton Manor in the FA Cup as a 15 year old.

In the next round Romford lost to Hornchurch & Upminster by 3-2 (crowd 3800).

The following month, he joined Hornchurch & Upminster.

The ESL connection is of course Eton Manor.

Welcome on board sir! You should meet the marvel that is 'Arry of the Eastside a man senior of years, but young of heart and still the master Urchin <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bounce.gif" alt="" />!
