Let's hope it also got the referee incorrect - a Mr Ray Lee. Plenty of injury time for Sills (if fit) to score another late winner against us, then.

Spooky!

No wonder jc is King of the prediction league.

I'm guessing that 'it' doesn't work on lottery numbers jc.

Nice to know that some of you who went to the match actually thought that the new loan signing did well. I felt just listening to the commentary that he obviously contributed well especially considering he hadn't played with the team before. Good example of why we shouldn't judge players before they have even kicked a ball with the Fleet.

Incidentally, Sills could now be considered our greatest Conference nemesis, having netted five goals against us since Aldershot's 2003 promotion, overtaking Ryan Mallon's four. That said, the fact that a) Mallon's goals came for two different clubs and B) he hasn't often been a first-team regular for these clubs yet still steps up to the plate against us makes him the more frustrating of the two, I'd say.

Ross Smith is one of the best defenders the club has ever had.

People probably said that about Chris Moore. However, Ross is probably player of the season so far - and there can't be many players sent off in their first competitive game for the club who have received that accolade.

As for Mr. Johnson, he looked pretty solid yesterday, aside from a couple of minor errors.

Yes......it's a b*gger isn't it ? all those bloody league clubs not loaning out their best players....I don't know what they are thinking of !

Be sensible.

Of course clubs are not going to loan-out their best players. But they do normally loan-out fringe first teamers to maintain fitness, gain experience etc.

I do not think, even by the largest stretch of the imagination, that you can call a player that has played just 5 first team games in 2 seasons, one of which being for a club just above halfway in the division immediately above the Fleet, as a fringe player.

That said, it appears that he did reasonably well Saturday.

But I still cannot see the point in bringing loan players if they are no better than what is there already. In those instance the only ones to benefit are the club loaning the player in the first place.

Apologies....will try and be more sensible in the future.

Not sure how you can draw this conclusion about Johnson, since he's only played one game so far, and looked more effective than Ben Surey has so far this season anyway (although Ben still hasn't started a game, admittedly).

I think you will find that that concusion was reached before the game.
