Interesting article in this week's paper. Some pretty strong quotes from Eddie directed at the players and it appears he is going to use our free Saturday to get them in for more training (obviously) and have a team meeting to reiterate the standards he requires.

I've not seen it yet, but there's probably a large chunk of content from the forum again (with the incorrect website beneath) in there?

Oh yes large chunk of forum quotes.

 

However the quotes attributed to Eddie were:

 

"I set high standards and they have dropped this season and I do not like that. There are reasons for that; the budget was cut and I did not get the size of squad I wanted and I didn't get the calibre of player I wanted. The lads are not working in the professional environment we have set and I have made allowances but I am not prepared to do that anymore. It's crunch time for certain people, of course it is. People will have to raise to my standards and if they do not then maybe this is the wrong club for them. But the players will have to make that decision for themselves."

 

He goes on to say:

 

"There is a whole attitude thing and it's an attitude to training, playing and in treatment and how they conduct themselves on playing days and in the bar and I have been disappointed a lot this season and feel I need to re-affirm my position."

 

He says Sataurday: "might be the ideal time because I am not prepared to compromise my standards anymore."

Fair play to him. I hope he can stick to those words and get rid of those who aren't pulling their weight outside of and on matchdays.
