Tresor Kandol Leaves Daggers

Back in the Ryman there were 3 players I thought would partner Lee well, Leroy Griffiths from Grays, and Kandol & Akurang from Thurrock. All strong players with a good touch and the ability to score goals.

I saw Dagenham v Aldershot earlier this year and Kandol scored 2, he certainly made the step up well.

Kandol is a quality player and think could do well in the football league.

He has now turned down a move to Darlington for personal reasons and the Daggers fans are not happy

After being told at their AGM that the deal was cast-iron and that Darlington would be paying around £50000 for the player they now seemed to have loaned out their best player for a month for nothing.

I`m all for letting a player better himself but you`ve got to make sure the deal is right for the club first.

a friend of mine who supports dagenham, told me that they were relying on the funds from selling kandol to help them out because they have big financial problems,i wonder how this leaves them now!!

Just what i heard, not saying there is any truth in it but he is a regular fan home and away so i do believe what he said!

Plenty of talk on the Daggers forum about money problems over the last couple of months, it`s certainly not cheap to compete in the Conference.

As a full member I've just received the balance sheet and it looks terrible. For the year ending June 30th 2005, we used £508000 on football expenses of which £342000 went on players wages. To me that isn't a small budget as Mr Still keeps quoting and I suggest he starts looking at his staff to cut costs and bring in players instead. Incidentally the amount taken through the turnstiles last year was £93,000 so you can see the club are doing fantastically on the comercial front and we really cant sustain a full time team on this money and need to go back to part time to survive. Finally we made a loss of £120000 last year and need to recover that this year

It shows what a fantastic job our lot do down the lane.

Daggers average gate this season is 1331 ours is by far the lowest in the league with 916. We have a similar size squad and similar priceing structure.

Next time we are slagging of our backroom/chair/management etc, remember somebody is dipping their hand in their pocket to the tune of about something between 1/4 & 1/2 million quid a year.

It aint me!!! Somehow a fiver for my boy don't seem so bad.

Could you imagine how much more successful a club we could be if we had the money and revenue generated from an additional 400 fans that the Daggers get each week?

We'd be at the top aiming for the league now or Jeff wouldn't need to dig quite as deep in his pocket for change <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Screw loose?

Taken from Barnetfc.com

Striker Tresor Kandol, Barnet's £50,000 signing from Dagenham and Redbridge in January, was sentenced to a total 13 weeks imprisonment by Highgate Magistrates on Tuesday - but will be out on licence in time for the start of the Football League season early in August.

Kandol was sentenced for what defending barrister Mark Hazlam described as "two weeks total madness" in March when he was caught three times driving while disqualified while on a two year ban imposed in March 2005.

The magistrates read a letter on behalf of 24-year-old Kandol from Barnet Chairman Tony Kleanthous, who was in Court with Manager Paul Fairclough, Barnet's PR Consultant Dennis Signy, Curtis Daws, Kandol's representative, and James Barrett, who has helped with the strikers defence.

The Chairman, who has attended all Kandol's court appearances in April and May, said after the hearing: "We have supported him throughout and will continue to do so when he comes out. It has been a difficult time."

The chairman of the magistrates, Mrs Pat Finch, and Mr Hazlam both acknowledged the support given to Kandol by Barnet FC - "they have stood up for him", said the barrister, referring to the presence of the Chairman and others in the public gallery. The magistrates decided against hearing from manager Fairclough in view of the letter from the Chairman.

Kandol was sentenced to 12 weeks consecutive imprisonment for the driving while disqualified charges and another week for failing to appear in court - an offence for which he was arrested on the morning the team left for the away trip to Boston United on April 1, when he spent the weekend in custody.

Mrs Finch said that Kandol will spend half his sentence in prison and would then be released on licence. The court did not add to the one year remaining on his previous disqualification and ordered him to have six points on his licence. /i
