looks very useful, hes only 19 so not quite ready for the first team yet - especially with woody still here - but very bright down the left flank, taking players on and feeding some good passes

Think Gareth will be a first-team regular. Just a shame he plays in the same position on the left as Woody as he's been our best player over the last few months in my opinion.

 

I'm guessing with McCleary signing we can now go 4-4-2 as Woody is decent at left back and McCleary can play just in front of him. Have my reservations about Josias at right back though - clearly an excellent attacking player, but not a defensive right back, so IMO he needs to be pushed forward to right-wing and a right back brought in if were sticking with 4-4-2 me thinks.

For what you've written about Josias, see Woody for the left. Think the two are very alike on their respective flanks, so if anything, we need to find players who would be comfortable in covering as a full back for when those two overlap (if we're going down the 4-4-2 route)

Disagree, think Woody is much more comfortable as a defensive player than Josias, plus Josias gets caught up the park a lot going forward - never really see that with Woodruffe.

I thik with the 3 of we can definitely have some flexibility in our formation.... finally

if we can play the 4-4-2 then it could be very useful to have the two players on each wing switching and overlapping, which could really be used to vary our play and confuse the opposition
