What game were you at?

Looking at some of the marks and comments you have totally underestimated some of the players especially with the game being played in very difficult conditions.

Surly your having a laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's me who does Mats' reports and looking at the marks again , I can't see what your problem is Anon.

The low marks (and they aren't that low besides Parkin) are for the defence letting in soft goals AGAIN and a striker who wouldn't pass all night.

The weather has nothing to do with it.

I think the report and the ratings are spot on to be honest. And it has been said before Anon - that was Wayne's opinion of the game and the players and therefore cannot be wrong.

The game is all about opinions that’s what makes it a beautiful game

I think all would agree that the game was played in difficult conditions. Gusting swirling wind, driving rain, a greasy bumpy surface giving uneven and unpredictable bounces. All the players during the game suffered this.

Parkin did misjudge the bounce which unfortunately cost a goal. Other than this I thought Parkin had a good game making some excellent saves at crucial times keeping us in the match. He commanded his box well holding crosses and supporting his defence by sweeping up whilst also providing the pass to Hodge’s to score his second. So in my opinion a 5 is harsh for one mistake.

The defence still needs some work but improvement can be seen so lets not always blame them. Avery is building in confidence and made some telling tackles whilst Daly displayed his ever present leadership and consistency. Paget took to the challenge and showed that he could be relied upon if required.

Yes the defence were at fault for their first goal but we lacked control and vision in the midfield. This was our problem area on the night. They left to many gaps allowing Redbridge the space and time to push forward putting unnecessary pressure on our defence. You cant mark up players just because they improved during the game. The game is 90 minutes not 45. We must not forget we have two experienced players in Mets and Harris out injured.

In attacking we are scoring goals but I can see many more if only we pulled the trigger a little earlier and follow up on the loose balls. This is a general problem across all areas of the pitch.

Agree McCleary had a good game but you can see the lack of experience at this level. He appears to be confident in his ability and I hope he is given another chance and settles in quickly.

Some very good points there. Marking players is very difficult. In The Game supplement in The Times they give ratings and 5/6 is for a decent game with perhaps the odd lapse. You see those having shockers given 2 and 3 and those that impressed on the day getting 7/8. 9 and 10 only come out for absolute top draw performance.
