Reserves

The reserves 100% league record ended last night after a 4 - 2 defeat at the hands of Farnborough Town. Despite WEFC using several first team players, we were 2 - 0 down in 12 minutes against a young and enthusiastic opposition. WEFC failed to get control of the midfield, and an unnecessary back pass put Iain Gardiner under pressure and we conceded a 3rd goal on the stroke of half-time. All 3 goals were poor ones to concede. In a very poor display, only Justin Skinner could really be happy with his performance. Adam Wallace replaced Peter Holsgrove at half-time, and Richard Sanford replaced Danny Smart. Wallace immediately added pace; quality; and workrate to the side, and two goals for him got WEFC back in the game. However, with a few minutes to go, and with WEFC pressing for the equaliser, we conceded another poor goal and the game was gone. With the quality available, it was a very disappointing performance.

Team : Gardiner; Dirou; Skinner; Woodcraft; Abbott (Kersey 65); Smart (Sanford 46); Lewington; Elford; Case; Holsgrove (Wallace 46); Cox. Unused Sub : Turner.

actually thought that paul dirou and tom woodcraft didnt have a bad game thay had alot of pressure in the first half on them from players running through midfield.

thought woodcraft gave a good outlet at left back in the second half. just goes to show that the first team players are not cut out for, feel sorry for dave carroll

why feel sorry he brought them in and pays good money out each week. nobody works harder than Abbo in the ressies but he gets taken off when others from the 1st have no pace no staminar and stays on. Get some more kids in like Farnbourgh had and let them develop. Not sure many from the ressies would want to go up if asked.
