Dartford this Saturday

Cookie,Dartford started the season brilliantly winning their first 4 league games but have since had a mixed bag of results. These have included defeats at Chatham and Sittingbourne although they are still unbeaten at home so think our best chance to win is at Hartsdown - we are due an improved home performance after all. Ian Pullman is playing for them as is another gate "old boy" Steve Hafner who scored the winner against Dover in their replay in the last round. Prediction 1-1 and defeat on penalties in the replay (sorry!)

If we sit back & continually allow the oposition to come at us then it plays right into the hands of the opponents. If we get at them then it could be a different story. If we sit back we are vulnerable to any team, any division, regardless of their form. Doing so allows others to play and pass the ball in front of us and it continually puts pressure on the defence. All common sense I know, and I am not being down just for the sake of it but am just being honest & realistic with what I have seen up till now. On the attack we could be awesome.I am expecting that attacking approach on Saturday for once and therefore the 2-1 scoreline to the Gate will be my final prediction.

We seem to manage to treat the away supporters to a show but forget to do so in front of our own fans. I just have this feeling that the team will do that this weekend & cheer us all up, myself included.

Thanks for kind words Spike, I am sure you will find the Margate fans friendlier than Dovers. I am away so will miss game but we have some great supporters who are very genuine & will always chat to away supporters. It is what non league football is about in my book. Hope its a great game & a win 2-1 to the gate! Sorry Spike

Tostao went off to play in Vietnam during the summer and has been having trouble getting back into the country. We haven't seen him this season and by all accounts are not likely too although there is hope he may be with us again eventually. Maybe next season.

Of that, there can be no doubt.

We are all looking forward to the game. We have a very young team who are learning and improving all the time. They are not expected to win so frankly we have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Sorry Cookie, I was'nt trying to be funny or anything-as you say just having a bit of fun. I have followed your predictions for over a year now and look forward to them with relish ( and ketchup ) but only recall one being spot on ( I'm sure you'll correct me on this and it's one more than me as I've never managed to get it right ).

2-1 seems to be the score of choice so perhaps we'll be right on Saturday. Might have more luck guessing the attendance-I'm going for 845-what do others think?

Difficult to judge the Rams' attendance as I don't know whether all the glory hunters who turned out at Nuneaton will turn up or how many the Dons take to away games so I'll go for 901.

Be nice for them to have some atmosphere down there for a change though. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/achso.gif" alt="" />

Just saying what came to mind thats all. Yes,I do remember him playing up front and he wasnt too successful at it but who knows what will happen tomorrow.Odds are long on him scoring I know but there still is that minor possibility.Even Bill can get a tap in if he's in the right place at the right time.
