Slough v Redbridge match thread

Highlights won't be available until:

a) I've dried out

B) I've figured out how to get any visibility from the footage (stupid rain blowing into the camera)

c) I've (re)sat my exam (Thursday)

So, basically, we're looking at the weekend I'd have thought, but I'll be getting the older matches done first.

Hodges MOTM by a country mile tonight. Workrate, finishing and link up play all excellent and McCleary looks an exciting player (my first view of him this evening).

Good luck for the exam Gary, doubt it counts as a resit given you missed the first one entirely.

Don't worry about the highlights either - I would have given up the minute it started pissing down.

Decent performance in appalling conditions. Hodges was immense, McCleary was excellent - great skills.

There second goal was pretty funny as it went keeper to keeper. He claimed it once someone behind the goal pointed out it was his.

Our second was quite funny as well as the four went to console an injured Ballard playing him onside as the game went on. The four then made a mistake allowing Hodgey to run through to beat the keeper at the near post.

shaky at the back, but at least we came out in the second half with some decent attacking play, we looked much much more confident, especially with young mccleary willing to take players on and feed some excellent crossfield balls.

hodges looked good in front of goal once again, but we still need to just have a crack when we get in and around the box, we had several chances to do so, but continued to jump and dance around the defence and lose the ball.

parky a bit unlucky for their second, came too far off his line in my opinion, and simply misjudged the bounce.

mccleary was my MOTM personally, he looked very bright, just what we needed, with hodges a very very close second.

brooks just needs a little kick to have a crack at goal more often, once he gets it hell be much more confident and score more.

all in all a very good night, despite some of the shocking defence for their first goal!

I agree with Gary (Is that a first?) Hodges MOTM by miles. Scored two, was very un-selfish, and tried setting up others. If we was more selfish (great use of the english language) or Brooks returned the favour and passed to him, he would of scored 4 or 5.

New lad looks good, and I thought Mason improved during the game. That was one young lad playing with no confidence, but he seemed to gain some as the game wore on. Not saying he had a belter or a mare though.

I also agree with BFR (a definite first!!!), their second goal was scored by the 'bridge goalie, and he thought so as well!
