Sodje returns in style

 

Neither Darren Randolph nor Onome Sodje were in action for temporary clubs Accrington Stanley and Gravesend & Northfleet respectively over the weekend. But schoolboy striker Sodje did make quite an impact on his return for Charlton U18s - stealing the headlines in no uncertain terms. The Addicks found themselves 2-0 down at Ipswich Town on Saturday before Sodje turned the game on its head with a magnificent hat-trick to give the Addicks a third straight win

No, I don't think so. I think it means that seeing how we didn't have a game he was able to play in their team seeing how theres no contract between the two. I suppose it's kind of like and international.

Sort of reiterates what I said on an earlier thread that Sodje is just a bit special. We must count ourselves fortunate to have him for the season.

I agree with you C.G. he looked pretty special against York but he didn't look so clever sitting on the bench against Stevenage.

Dropping Sodje was a really poor decision by Liam. Manny was poor against Stevenage.

In the first half against Stevenage I thought Manny was our most dangerous player and but for a spectacular save from the Stevanage keeper would have scored.

 

I didn't go to Tamworth or Kettering so I can't comment on Sodges performances in those games but I assume from Liams comments in the press and his team selection against Stevanage that Liam was unhappy with Sodge and Proths contribution in those games.

 

We have failed to score in our last three games so something must be wrong, either the forwards aren't good enough or they are getting a poor service from the midfield or the defence are bypassing both midfield and forwards and hoofing the ball to the opposition. Whatever it is it needs fixing.

He wasn't all that great against Tamworth - but then neither was the whole team.

Against Kettering, it wasn't one of his very best games, but he still looked dangerous at times and struck the post with a fine long-range effort in the second half.

It's no coincidence that his apparent loss of form is linked to the new "kick it as far as you can" tactic.

Yeh great news about Sodje being on form

 

However, I bet playing for Charlton's boys he actually had the ball passed to his feet and not launched 50 yards over his head like he gets with us !!!!!!!!!!!
