Todays weather

Is it raining hard today in Kent.

Whilst we have a fairly well draining pitch,if it rains hard today, with further heavy rain on Tuesday as forecast,i think an early postponement of Tuesdays game could do everyone a favour.

It would save the pitch,

save the embarrassment of a miniscule crowd, and most importantly enable the manager and players to regather their thoughts and regroup prior to an important game on saturday.

I trust we do proper training these days

We do have an undersoil drainage system Michael so I cant see any problems no matter how much it rains. But then again I suppose even a prolonged deluge could still be too much even for that.Who knows, but as I see it we should really be able to play under most conditions bearing in mind the cost of that system.(whatever it cost). But is the forecast that severe though?

just feel its a game we are 'not ready for' at the moment,on basis that want to win every game, and playing on a wet horrid tuesday night will not provide answers as to who should be in the team for saturdays most important game;and we could get even more injuries

After yesterday it may well be to the good I think. Maybe if the players & management look in here & see how disgusted we all feel, well the majority anyway & together with that the Managers tough talking gets through to them as I am sure there must have been some after the game to the players then the quicker the better maybe.Get saturday out of the system quickly. It maybe too soon maybe not but the quicker I personally manage to forget about Saturday the better & getting a quick game and a better performance would help no-end.I think it could be a good thing though I see your point on this MM. Mind you another performance AT HOME like todays & I cant imagine how everyones going to feel. But the fixture is ON anyway so whatever we think its going ahead like it or not.Cant really see the weather intervening really.

CK has a responsibility also to make sure he puts a team out that is prepared to battle for every ball if nothing else as we seem to be lacking that at the moment.A bit more effort and commitment could offset any deficiencies we may have in the skills department.

I see your point also about the important game on Saturday but as it stands there can be no more important game at the moment than a league game and getting points on the board.Even the FA Trophy should come second best to tuesdays game.

Tuesdays game is the 'railway cup' though.

(not that there is anything wrong with railways though cookie !!)

Trophy is important to 'keep the interest going 'and keep the crowds up as we enter the next phase of Trophy against the big sides(ouch that hurts to say that after we've been there ourselves)

Oh I do beg your pardon Michael. Just shows my lack of knowledge dosent it.My ignorance embarrases me.In that case you are perfectly entitled to say what you said. The FA Trophy would come ahead of the railway cup(is that what its called?)

However having said that a WIN of any sort,a performance with at least SOME magic, quickly, would do wonders for everyone still.

Maybe CK can use this game therefore as a suitable game to experiment by getting the team to push up more to the half-way line, with Edwards dong the cover like in the old days and to allow the forwards and midfield to stay put at the other end to get some much needed sustained attacking practice in.

[color:"blue"]Have to disagree with you MM, I think we should be playing as man games as possible at the moment. We'll not get the fluidity of passing and interaction that was so absent on Saturday from the training pitch. That can only come from competitive challenge - after all in the warm-up you see everyone playing one or two touch passing, but there's no close marking and competitive tackles which you get when the game's started. The more they play together the quicker we'll look like a TEAM.
