Warren Ryan

Was Ryan unavailable today? It appears the subs were switched round after the team sheet was printed.

15 was Kola (replaced Keister)

14 was Hilaire (replaced Maxwell)

Somebody correct me if I got that wrong.

Why didn't the management tell the stadium announcer, and hence the fans?

Good Lord, this is a lot of old cobblers isn't it?

Yes, pants match today, no-one can deny.

But there seems to be an air of headless chickens running around our club at the moment.

Now is the time for everyone to stop panicking and knee-jerking and CALM DOWN A BIT.

We have talented players, why is everyone denying it? Because they have a bad game does not make them bad players. They have not undergone any surgery or reeducation since their great display at Fisher that I can see. If anything the most needed injection would be a confidence boost. And I cannot see anyone contributing to that on here.

But that would mean we would have to lend some support to our team in the bad times, would it not?

Why is that so hard for us to do? We faced much worse than this in times just gone and came up smiling. Where has that gone?

With the utmost respect June & I hate to ever disagree with you co's you are lovely & I love you to bits but I just knew it would be you,if anyone who would put another side to this.I didnt go to Fisher but the last 3 or 4 home games have seen these kind of performances on a regular basis and just because the lads are supposed to have raised their game once it dosent mean that they can be excused for those home games. We are all waiting to see a home performance that we can cheer about,I am sure, but we have to be honest and say that those players who have participated in those last few games apart from 3 or 4 have no talent,& if they have then they are not showing it.We cant go on being expected to accept/give excuses or trying to be optimistic when they underperform as I am sure they are doing.

I admire you for trying to keep things together but sometimes no amount of optimism will change a players attitude or football skills.

And its not just for todays game.We have all I feel been very patient what with those other pathetic performances at home so please dont be surprised that we are shouting out now.We dont all meet up with the players either so we dont all get personnally involved like you do, so you should realise that we cannot bear that in mind in the way that you do.

As much as I also hate saying it CK has to take some of the blame here too!

We are vulnerable to early goals because we never have the same back line and they don't know what their jobs are. By the time they settle we are 1-0 down.

Plus the fact that the new players are used to 4-4-2 and struggle to adapt. Plus the fact that we haven't got wingers who can play full back; the nearest is Greg and he's out.

I don't buy Brayley/Sesay at wing back because Brayley won't do it (and doesn't even play for us) and Sesay looks unhappy trying.

The only bright thing today that nobody has mentioned is that when Hilaire came on towards the end and we played 3 up front we looked much better and could have scored. Because we were getting the play into their half they didn't look as threatening either.

Which is another argument in favour of 4-4-2, because it is easier to adapt if you need to.

I am stating an opinion, not slagging off the manager. He is fully committed to the club and has a successful record. He has the rest of the season to prove the critics wrong.

Chris 1 , I agree with you it did make a difference when Ian Hilaire came on. It added strength to our attack. It is difficult for players when they are being played out of their natural positions eg Sesay who is an attacking midfielder although he is performing creditably well in Greg's position. Although there will always be the problem of unavoidable absencies through injuries and suspensions it does seem sensible to build a squad with cover for the range of positions and to play to the players

best abilities rather than shoe horning them into a particular system.

There is no denying that recent home performances

have been disappointing but trying to change too much too soon is not producing an improvement.

Let us hope that for the sake of maintaining our very good home support that the performances on the field will show an upturn. After the excellent game at Fisher several of us thought we had turned the corner.

It proves that they CAN do it Zhukov so we should expect and get some consistency. And as you point out in front of the Home Fans especially. Just one good performance at home will do wonders for everyones morale and would certainly allieviate any doubts about the players abilities.

It would be a very serious blow if we were to lose Ryan.

As suggested above, why do we not put our obviously good players on 2 year contracts.

AS CK alluded to , there may be a bit of uncertainty unfairly hanging over the club making it difficult to sign good players,if there is an exodus of players it will not encourage new players of the quality reqd. to sign for the Gate, and neither will players be looking to sign after apparent results/ performances like yesterday which does see us in a relegation battle.

WE also need a different type of player now.

Young skillful quality players are ok when things are going quite well, and CK deserves credit for signing them, but it remains a results business and when you are up against it, you need hardened experience battlers.

Steve Mckimm on loan please to help him regain fitness.
