Ramsgate lost!

Nuneaton 2 Ramsgate 0. Ramsgate apparently trying every trick in the book to get Nuneaton players booked and they got one sent off for two yellows - both harsh. Ramsgate were POOR too. 2100 crowd though so they will get a good return.

Cheered me up a bit. Now they can quieten down a bit and sink to midtable while we go on a storming winning run and snatch the headlines back!

Report of racist abuse by Ramsgate fans at Nuneaton...

Quote:
Good riddance to Ramsgate and the small group of awful so called fans that stood by the centre line on the canal side in the first half. Obviously the worse for drink, this group were vocal from the start. Not much of what they shouted was cleaver or good natured but that in itself was not a problem, but once they were a goal down and obviously being outplayed, one in particular stated shouting racial abuse (not from the back, but hanging over the fence to get as near as possible) to both Brian Quailey and Terry Angus whenever they came near.

Both Brian and Terry were both obviously upset by the foulmouthed racial abuse but acted with dignity and just scowled at the culprit.

No stewards were along the canal side at all (why not?) they just huddled together in small groups in the corners. People moved away from the area and were trying to urge some stewards to get amongst these so called fans.

I felt sorry for some of the other civilised Ramsgate fans that were obviously embarrassed by the chants.

But I do feel that the stewarding needs to be looked at. Surely with so many stewards at the match there could have been one along the canal side from the start?

Sad bitter man (or pig?). Nuneaton were a very good side and would have beaten Margate easily. Our players were magnificent against a team that will be in the conference next year and the bookings were entirely justified - just shows of petulance after a free kick had been given against them.

I'd concentrate on your own team's miserable form if I were you. You might be relegated if it you aren't careful.

Yes, three or four drunken people caused trouble, and they were offensive in their chanting, never seen any of them at a Rams game before and hope to never again. They'll probably turn up for your game at home to Wimbledon later this month claiming to be Gate fans and you can deal with them then.
