There is a Labour council in the Enfield North area. Only Southgate is Tory.

I'm afraid you are wrong there. Enfield North does have a labour MP. However, Enfield Council is Tory controlled and iot is they who control parking regulations within the Borough.

If Tony Blair is left wing, even moderately, God help those of us who are left wing, even moderately. I'm not sure Maggie didn't teach him everything he knows.

Slightly wider roads would negate the need to park on the pavement. Thus allowing traffic to pass and meaning that kerb-sides wern't damanged.Even if 30% of roads could benifit from this, it would be a good move.

[color:"blue"]Agreed - but everyone would complain if council taxes go up to pay for it. Absolutely right about the pavements that the council have designated as parkable, they are susceptible to damage. I never understood the double standards on that one.

/quote] I think w're all aware of the law.Its the LAW we are moaning about!

[color:"blue"]I know, but some posts seemed to suggest that some people thought they had a right to park outside their home.

...highly expensive (and most of the time unnecessary) car damaging obsticle courses, that are traffic humps, road calming islands and contraflows.

[color:"blue"]Totally agree. Ridiculous wastes of time and money.

The very reason a lot of people parked in the street, was the very muddy condition of the Downs.

[color:"blue"]Well if you all had Land Rovers like mine.... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
