Very lucky indeed. Especially as it came after an embarrassing open goal miss by Bowers!!!

A tough game !!!

Bowers missed an open goal just before time. The guy only had to side foot it into the net, but blasted it miles over into Pitsea market car park.

Difficult to play football in the quagmire down the wings, and ankle length grass.

Thought Bowers battled well, and maybe deserved a draw, can’t see why they’re bottom.

Probably the second best clubhouse in the league.

Burgers were quality. Probably amongst the best I've had this season and that includes many at Conference grounds.

I think Michael Collier deserves some credit here - he raced back and flung himself at the ball. This was enough to put the player off.

thanks to dagger and coach 64 giving directions I went to my 2nd away game with young Master Sheps (12) and slightly older Miss Sheps (14). Again we had a great time and in some ways it was almost like a home game (if not quite as vocal as Cogenhoe). I nearly made the classic mistake, edging towards the exit to get a qucik getaway from the crowded car park (about 92mins). Little Miss Sheps, clearly made of sterner stuff would have none of it and insisted that we stay to the end -- enter Rick Burbridge. Enough said - we saw the winning goal and went home happy.

i missed my first game since last october when i climbed scafell pike with some old bint called "my ex"

absolutly gutted,but hopefully this will be compensated by the fact that i may see a hen harrier in flight at 7am in the morning

Same old story,cannot stick the ball in the net,thanks for all the comments regarding burgers,clubhouse etc,we try our best,on the game I thought that you played the better football on a bad pitch (I did warn you)but we had our moments, I cannot understand why we are near the bottom but thats been our season so far.i thought our centre back played Danny Heale very well he hardly had a sniff,You could have lost 1-0 but you nicked it 1-0 thats football,how he missed that open goal only he knows and then you go up the other end and score,good side you showed why you are top,Thanks for all your support and the money you all spent,all the best for the rest of the season.

am only sorry i couldn't attend,hopefully we will play you again in a cup comp this season as i hate missing out on new grounds,you have said pretty much what i had heard so it is nice to see two clubs agreeing on a game and its outcome(if you are listening emfc and romford!!!)

Thanx JP, I wuz there mate don't worry, nice comments and a fair reflection on the game.

We all enjoyed our day, thought your lads were very competitive, and that's an understatement really!

But we all know you have to compete for everything especially on a pitch like that, but as I said before I know your people put a lot of effort in.

Just one thing, why only leave one girl behind the bar beforehand?

That's no criticism cos poor soul did well.

i enjoyed the football, but had THE WORST HANGOVER OF MY ENTIRE LIFE, so didn't enjoy the day as much as i usually do.

 

nice burgers though & i love the steel container thingys behind the goal. excellent stuff.
