I thought todays performance was very poor. Totally outplayed by a side that had only won 2 league matches previously this season, and which had failed to win any of their last 8 league games.

To me the midfield didn't seem to exist. Wilkinson apart I thought they were completely disinterested, and had so little effect on the game they might just as well not bothered turning up. They need a kick up the [****!!****] as today the effort just wasn't there.

The new guy was Gareth McCreary or something to that effect and yes, he did look half decent. First half was shocking again, second was much better but still not great. Best bit was Eddie changing his substitution decision when we all started shouting no. Probably a mistake with the numbers but it was still quite funny.

I agree with Ted - the Hendon lads clearly wanted to win today and we decided to let them. Hoofing the ball up the field every opportunity, half the time with no idea where it was going is not exactly creative football.

Gary McGann got on my nerves at times, but at least he was giving support to his players and they obliged him. Sadly even with the chances we had none of them ever looked like going in. They need our support agreed, but how about them giving us something to support? You can accept them losing if they are beaten having given their all and played with skill and determination - today it looked as if a lot of players were somewhere else.

Looking at the very professional warm up the Hendon players went through, and then the lackadaisical kick around that Slough had before the game, what happened was on the cards from before the start, imho. We got what we deserved, - stuffed!

Will we get 250 on Tuesday? I wonder......

saw you at Burnham today Ian, how good was their no. 5 best player on the pitch & their 11 , lefsided midfielder?

Which one was 5? Was that the shaven headed young guy at the back? I thought he looked very good. I also think with the state of our defence at present we could do a lot worse than the Burnham captain (dark haired no nonsense defending which I think might be the one you're referring to, Phil). He was the one that almost broke Mason's leg in pre-season!

I also thought their keeper was ok until he made a howler for Aldershot's first goal.

CK, you seem to offer to do that yourself. You don't need any cliqu to help you make that choice!

As for 250 on Tuesday? It's the league cup, in which we only scraped 300 for the semi final last season. Redbridge will have no one there, and we'll be on 150 at a push given recent form.

I would expect a full strength side to go out on Tuesday and have a real kick up the ar$e following on from the result today.

Yes we have lost our way, this season but is it any differant than we all expected ??

Remember we have Christian and Glenn to return and the new boy looks good, I have to agree we need to sort the defence out, while we are letting them in early its a hard climb back each game. As for changing the Manager NO ! way...

Eddie will get there and after the last few season he deserves us to be behind him 100 %.

So let's get the support back behind the goal, yes its not good at the moment, but your vocal support is one reason player do want to play for Slough.

Up the Rebels...

Disappointed with yesterday. Yes we had the ball most of the second half but did little with it. Seemed to be a recurring theme of Steve Daly getting the ball at the back, the midfield running away from Steve, leaving him to come forward and expect him to play a killer ball through to our strikers. Alexis and Mason should have got the ball off Steve and then we can create from there - that's not Steve Daly's job!

Midfield really is a concern. Wilko looks lost without Mets there to help at the mo and Alexis and Mason are struggling.

With Leigh Mason the form he was in at the end of last season and pre-season this was outstanding and I thought he would be the next player to be snapped up by a higher division club, but since his injury he looks so short of confidence.

Alexis, although I hate singling out players needs to WORK OFF THE BALL. Far too laid back and for the second hendon goal he lost the ball in the corner, waved his arms around hoping for a free kick, rather than working back where they broke and scored. When things are not going right we do need comitment and workrate and Alexis (although I do rate him on the ball) just does not do that.

Defence, still think we need another centre back as Daly and Avery does not seem to work together as our GA column shows.

As for Burnham, rated Horstead, and their workrate was brilliant - something a few of our lads did not do, but apart from that don't think any of them from what I saw have the ability to step up a level and will improve our team.

A permanent signing from Oxford Utd apparently - a left sided midfielder/forward with a bit of pace about him. He wasn't afraid to play directly, taking defenders on and getting a shot in at goal, which is what we need. Almost scored with his first touch as well.

Obviously I enjoyed the game, despite the sending off. Couldn't see the incident - too many bodies in the way - but having spoken to people since, seemed the right decision. He's young and hopefully he's learnt his lesson about lashing out.

You won't have seen it, but there was a handball by Ricci Crace in the build up to our second goal!

Thanks for the usual friendly welcome, hope the results improve soon and look forward to seeing you all later in the season.

The defence and the midfield are frankly [****!!****] at the moment. We are not creating enough chances to outscore teams so we are never going to win any games. Need to get Josy and Woody further advanced which means we need to find two centre halves to play with Daly pronto. And we desperately miss Chopper and Mets. Very poor result. It is going to be a long hard winter folks.

I know it seems a crime to dare to say anyhing bad about the management of our club but things our pretty dire at the moment to say the least. There seems to be no incentive by certain players no motivation and certain players do not deserve to wear the shirt. Its sad to see Slough in such a dire situation we can thank the thornes for that even though certain people who write in the programme still think he's a god? how sad.My hope this season is 5th from bottom but god knows what will happen to our club during the summer as getting a ground is as far away as ever.Anyone know where Mr Deaner is?????????????????

I don't think criticising the management is a problem but it needs to be tempered with realism. Is Eddie doing a good job at present? Results suggest not although I didn't think yesterday's performance was as bad as a few this season.

Should we sack the manager? Hell, no. That would be ridiculous. We know he's a decent manager, he's proved that and even if people still decided they wanted him out (which I don't) they have to be able to find a better alternative. There isn't going to be a queue.

I'm sure somebody will say "well anybody could do better at the moment" but that's simply not true. A few managers might be able to lift us higher up the table but without the resources which are tight at present most would take us further down.

If we'd been crap for three seasons under Eddie then I'd be calling for him to go as well but he's more than earned the right for us to stick with him during the first bad spell he's had. Just my opinion.
