Wonder where that arrogant git from Gillingham that used to post on here has gone. I do hope he went to Burscough...

Cooper can't have much longer left in that job unless Scally can't afford to sack him.

The Terriers (Huddersfield Town) play Welling Utd of the Conference South today (Sunday) in a 1pm kick-off. I've counted 9 ex Fleet players in their line-up plus their manager, so I expect Fleet fans will be rooting for them.

The weather's pretty foul up here this morning, with high winds and rain, couple to that, we're in the middle of a dodgy spell and haven't won in 3 starts, were as Welling have lost only once in 16. A potential 'giant killing' in the making I'd say!

The eventual result doesn't bother me much. Having made a solid start, our main aim this season must be promotion, so progression in the FA Cup isn't exactly a priority. Having said that the Cup has it's own magic and once the game starts I'll be busting a blood vessel like the rest. And then there's always the prospect of eventually getting a 'big un' later on! Hmmmmmmmmmm!

To be honest, I really have no idea of the outcome of this game but needless to say, after the embarrassment at Accrington Stanley a couple of seasons ago, I'm chuffed it's not being broadcast to the entire nation on TV.

Here's to a good game!

Hey no worries! No offence taken!

The Forest v Weymouth result shows what a non-league side can achieve if they apply themselves. Weymouth are below 'The Wings' too, so there's a warning if we really need one. In fact I've just heard our manager on the radio saying how aware we are of the proverbial banana skin and how much we want to progress. He say's we'll be treating it like OUR cup final. Then again, he has to say that doesn't he?

He also seems to think we'll be getting in some shooting practice this afternoon, which is slightly contradictory. Oh well, read into that what you will, I'm just looking forward to a good cup tie. One thing is for sure, the magic of the FA Cup is hard to match.

Regards

If Huddersfield where up against almost anyone else I would feel that B.B.'s continued support for the Fleet would deserve to be returned, but not only are the Wings non-league and from Kent but they are almost entirely ex Gravesend and Ade Pennock is a top bloke who deserves success.

Come on you Wings......but if they don't manage it I will cheer for the Terriers in the next round.

Will you feel the same if Welling go up this season though? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Despite the scoreline Welllng Utd put up brilliant display today!

They worked hard, tried to play 'football' all game and most impressively, kept their shape while under huge pressure, particularly in the second half.

Had a few drinks before and after the game with 'Wings' fans who were top folk and justly proud of their team. It was easy to see why they're top of the Conference South.

So my Fleet friends it looks very much like you'll have some local competition next season if things stay as they are. Of course I don't expect they will, because the 'Might Fleet' are about to embark on an unbeaten run which will see them surge up the Conference. Trust me!

Cooooooooome Oooooooooooon Yooooooooooooooou Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeds!

Regards to all!

Hope you are not referring to me Stu M, i have never to my knowledge been arrogant, i support both Clubs have done since 1960 and i would never slag off either team, i did not go to Burscough, i did in fact go to the local recreation ground to watch Cliffe Woods play in the Rochester & District League.

If not me i have a good idea who.
