This Season v Last Season

Somebody made an interesting point re Joe Baker that he wasn't the only player not to have performed consistantly well last season. This got me thinking (always dangerous <img src="/forums/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" /> ) about the Hendon defeat at New Lodge when the entire first team squad was listed.

The team that day was:

Gavin King - Now at Harlow

Dean Morris - Ford Utd

Sacha Opinel - back in France

Jeff Woolsey - Grays

Andy Tomlinson - Heybridge

Martin Carthy - Still With Club

Joe Baker - On his way to Aylesbury

Lee Williams - Still With Club

KK Opara - Harlow

Steve Darlington - Carshalton

Steve Dickinson - Aveley

Some other 1st team squad members at that stage of the season:

Chris Moore - Still With Club

Kevin Jordan - Harlow

Amara Simba - Clacton

Nicky Savidge - Gone to University

Tommy Morgan - Enfield Town (I know he had left earlier in the season but he started over 10 games)

Gary Henty, Jamie Wallace and Russell Penn were both long term (or in Jamie's case lots of short term) injury victims, Gary started just 10 times towards the end of the season, Jamie 6 and Russell missed the entire campaign.

So only Chris Moore, Lee Williams and Martin Carthy remain from the team that played so badly last winter. JJ came in towards the end of the season and kept something like 4 clean sheets in 10 games. It's been a fairly comprehensive rebuilding of the team - and so far this season it has been pretty successful.
