Almost every defence in this league (including our own) is picked to deal with crosses and high balls, playing the ball on the ground to fast forwards immediately negates the strength of most centre backs. I know I would far rather see Macca challenging for a header than having some nippy little forward run at him.

Last season we had Roy Essandoh, who is a big strong forward and good in the air and we still looked pants hoofing long balls forward. Surely the secret is to play to our strengths not the oppositions. Charlie, Manny and Omone can all cause problems given the right ball the trouble is nobody gives them the right ball.

Kim has now appeared at Crawley on trial. Apparently he lives locally and applied for their manager's job before they appointed Francis Vines.
