Kevin Wilson leaves Kettering Town!

Recommended Posts

Watch them drop like a stone.

Imagine playing a game of Football Manager. You get 22 months into the game, you get your own team and things are looking positive. Then all of a sudden some Geordie wife beater comes along and takes it all away from you.

P.S I have also heard that away fans are no longer allowed in their bar as they expect it to be to full with home supporters from now on. A dip in form could change all that.

The smart thing to do would have meant not changing a winning team. This all comes a fortnight to late for us though.

I watched the press conference on Sky sports news when Gazza and co. were introduced as the new management team. Wilson gave the impression that he was actually hoping to stay which sort of baffled me at the time. Thought he would leave sooner or later.

Its happened before, It'll happen again.

If I was a Kettering supporter, despite all the current euphoria and excitement, I would be very worried about the future.

Just wait and see what happens when the club have over extended themselves financially, the results start to go against them and Gascoigne walks away.

It is a disaster waiting to happen!

Yes, it may be a pessimistic view.

But would you really be surprised if it happened? If they don't get promoted to the Conference National this season, can you honestly imagine Paul Gascoigne being happy to go to places like Leigh, Workington and Barrow for another season?

Sadly, as I said, it has happened to other non-league clubs, it could happen to Kettering Town.

Sorry that was my attempt at humour.

You're right and I think Gazza will walk away (hence me starting this thread) but if he succeeds look what his got to look forward to, going to places Tamworth, Altrincham and Southport.

That's what people said when some rich bloke bought Grays, and then when another bloke bought Chelsea.

I would not be in the least surprised to hear of their bubbles bursting either, particularly at Chelsea.

But this could go on forever I could name a bunch of teams that have benefited from a rich benefactor and they you could name a few that have been hindered by one.

In the meantime look what’s happening at Chelsea since the male Anastasia took over. Premiership champions, a list of world stars (and that’s just the bench).

And at Grays Top of the league newly promoted to the top flight of non league football, and unbeaten.

So what will happen in the future? Well unfortunately my crystal ball is in for a service but I reckon the bubble will burst but will they achieve league status before that happens?

Yes, but no Champions League title and looking dodgy for this year also with the team Chelsea can't beat blocking your way.

Money don't buy you everything and I reckon the disasters at non-league level out do the successes.
