The police have clocked on to what the club were doing and wont allow it to be open at half time untill the club get the lisence they need for it to be open.

 

Big shame really as it was a bonus being able to have a pint at HT

The club probably paid for the old bill to be in attendance in case of any trouble at a game and whilst they were bored wandered around to the bar and promptly realised it had no licence!

The new Licence application is in with the powers that be this Friday 4/11. Hopefully, if approved and there is no more red tape bollox to overcome we should be sorted soon. I will keep you posted.

Chris you should already know because if there are no objections from Environmental Health, Police, Neighbours etc. It goes through no problems.

What are the restrictions re football & beer? Is is about not being able to see the pitch from the bar or vice versa?

Some clubs lower down the pyramid allow you to take alcohol out on to the terraces in plastic glasses. I know Braintree and Bishop's Stortford do. Hornchurch used to.

I just looked on the Council web there is no mention of Canvey on this weeks licensing sub committee agenda. All they have Hot Pot restuaraunt.

The club are not charged to police the matches. The consumption of alcohol at a designated football match is regulated by seperate legislation.

i thought it was something to do with being able to see the pitch from the bar.. just paint the windows .. even with the other bar open, for bigger games cambridge grays etc we wont be able to use it anyway,..
