make your own stfc merchandise

I'm sorry, but some peoples attitude on here stinks.

Stokepoges Rebel comes up with an idea, and it gets shot down in Flames. It is not A BFR Idea , therefore it is crap.So just because the Club shop does not sell something somebody wants, we cannot find an alternative. By your argument I cannot get a Slough scarf knitted for me because the Slough club shop does not have scarves?? Would that be a 'pathetic' idea.

I have an idea of making Slough Town dart flights, at my expense.(Not quite ready yet!) I know not everybody plays darts, but, I would produce them at no cost to the club, and whatever the club shop sells them for, they keep the money. Is that ok with you BFR. I know it would not make thousands but everything helps.

How dare you put comments like that up about another supporters idea. We do not all share your (obviously far superior) opinion!

Maybe a few supporters could club together and get some bits made up from this company, and donate them to the club shop to sell? Is that a pathetic Idea.

I stoppped using this forum for ages because of pompous remarks like yours before, and I'm sure other people would be put off coming on here with thoughts and Ideas, only to have them rammed back in their face by comments such as "Or alternatively buy merchandise from the club shop, rather than come up with pathetic ideas like this" or "You put it up and it has been knocked down. Next".

I'm sure Stokepoge rebel will be dying to share more ideas on here now.

SPR. We are not ungrateful for your ideas, even if we do not agree with them, so keep them coming, and anybody else.

BFR, we all have ideas and opinions, but your are not the only Slough Supporter in the world, by all means share your opinions,we do not all agree with each other, but don't be a pompous twat.

Groovy gang? new one, at least you didn't call us gay.

So I don't like you? I don't know you well enough to make that judgement, just didn't like your posts.

Thanks for the incisive response, no comments on knocking peoples ideas? Or are we going to go further downhill until we develop into my dad is bigger than your dad?

Ok Tony, I don't feel I need to respond to your comments but I will.

Dealing with the original message - it goes against the grain of having a club shop is somebody encourages other people to make their own merchandise. You mention your knitted scarf, and I have no issue with you for having a knitted scarf, but I have not seen or heard you encouraging other supporters to do the same.

Secondly, the club shop manager has already indicated recently on this forum that she is looking into getting some mugs done. On a club forum should a supporter actively encourage competition to the club shop?

Thirdly, I consider the message to be spam. One of the rules set out on this website is 'Participants may not use the Forums to post or transmit advertisements or commercial solicitations of any kind.'

Unlike your darts suggestion (which I happen to think is a good one, and I'd be interested in buying some should they be produced) the message of SPR says nothing about money going to the club. If it did, or had he contacted the club shop directly then I might take a milder stance.

As for being labelled a 'pompous twat', it makes quite a refreshing change from the jibes of 'fat [****!!****]' which normally come my way from opposition players.

You also mention that in the past some of my remarks have kept you away from using the forum. I'm sorry you felt that way, but I won't refrain from saying what I think and contributing to the debate. If people don't agree with my thoughts, so be it, I'm not here for PR.

I must admit BFR, that I didn't read SPR's message as you obviously did and as a result thought your response was surprisingly sharp for the polite moderator that you usually are.

All I thought he was trying to say he had found a source of producing things that the club shop currently didn't and was suggesting a way that they could do so - it didn't look as if he was trying to do the shop down, just trying to be helpful. At least that's how it looked to me as it obviously did to others, and I can understand people not bothering again if they get jumped on like that.

How about "Thanks for the suggestion, SPR - can I suggest that you email the staff shop manager with the details and I am sure she will look at it to see if there is anything worth pursuing. In the meantime, keep the ideas to raise cash for the club coming." as an alternative?

Or even "I will draw the attention of the Trust fundraising committee to your suggestion.....?"

Bit of a bad day, perhaps?

The point is Andrew - SPR is a bit dim and repeatedly asks the same things over and over again. I know for a fact (but I can't be bothered to trawl through all his previous posts to prove my point) that he has asked about the club shop producing mugs. The response from Emma was that she would look into this further but having previously looked into it she found it was very expense. If new products were introduced to the shop it would be announced on here. SPR then does his own research and finds shock horror - it is a bit expensive and then decides to waste valuable bandwidth advising us all of something we already knew.

Its like being stuck in Waiting for Godot. Any minute now some fool will come along and ask whether the trust knows where we are playing next season.

BFR, (I don't know your real name)

Thanks for your response. I take on board your comments, about spamming and going in competition against the club shop, but i do not think that was SPR's objective. granted, i did not know about emma mentioning Mugs before, or that SPR has mentioned it (according to martin) loads of times, just why didn't you say in your first response what you have just said to me. it just looked aggresive, and pompous.

i don't think he was actively setting up competition against the club shop, naieve yes, that horrible, no. do not believe he was going to set up shop and start selling stuff. If the rule of the forum about spam was broken why did you not delete it?

I understand you wanting to make sure our club is protected. it is just that for somebody who does not read every post(That is not a dig!!) and not knowing about previous posts (ie emma's and SPR's) you response seemed quite shocking.

as for labeling you a pompous twat, i said don't be a pompous twat, not you are one. As in your were coming across as one.

Most of your points are very valid, if you had of just said something along the lines you said to me then we wouldn't be wasting each others time on here!

"You also mention that in the past some of my remarks have kept you away from using the forum. I'm sorry you felt that way, but I won't refrain from saying what I think and contributing to the debate. If people don't agree with my thoughts, so be it, I'm not here for PR."

You have never frightened me off! So don't be sorry. I said comments like yours, not your comments. None of us are here for PR , and if i were here for that, i wouldn't have made my initial comments.

I'm normally A stupid fat baldy according to oppo players, and a fair few slough fans.

Have a few ideas for the dart flights. Will do a seperate post for this. and if this works, have a few other ideas in the pipeline. i will not share them yet, as i will giving anything i produce to the club shop, and i may fail and look a fool! and don't want anyone to nick my (fairly poor) Ideas!

As for pompous

It's

wanna buy some pegs (Isn't It?)

Following on from the above and various other posts, I am happy for supporters to investigate possibilities for new club stock, or to send ideas for stock to me at clubshop@sloughtownfc.net. I am also happy for supporters to obtain stock, for me to sell, I will reimburse expenditure, once the items have been sold, and will keep any profit for the club.

Scarves have been ordered, although I have not received any confirmation from my supplier, I will endeavour to chase them up, but has been tricky recently, due to training commitments at work and the fact my supplier works the same hours as I do.

Also I am still arranging a quote for mugs, again due to work commitments it is a little difficult.

I am also looking at pens, something very simple such as a yellow background with SLOUGH TOWN FC written on in navy.

If anyone has any comments or suggestions please let me know either on here, by email or on a match day. I will update the forum as and when new stock items are added to the shop.
