GREG Lincoln that is! Now playing for Chelmsford & penalty taker. Have looked on History site but not much mentioned of him.Cant see a pic of him either though there is a mention of him on the "where are they now" section. For those that keep up with ex GATE players can you give us a run down on him on here. I am interested to know. I personally cant recall him here but then I may have been working away then.I remember the name vaguely though. Any info please!!

Greg Lincoln's one game for Margate was a Conference match at home to Northwich on 20.10.01, we lost 2-1.

His fellow debutant Jon Boardman (now at Rochdale) got the Margate goal and it was a week later that we lost to Grays in the Cup.

Our team v Northwich - Turner, Hafner, Lincoln, Edwards, Boardman, Porter, Munday, Graham, Braithwaite, Collins, Saunders. Sub used was Azzopardi.

The even funnier thing is that i agree with you.

Boardman,Edwards,Porter ,Saunders and Lincoln would get in todays team imo.

Neither has the conference got particularly stronger in last 3 years either in my opinion.

So that being the case, excepting the two self inflicted relegations, what is the current side doing floundering in the bottom half of the Ryman, if we agree the current team is stronger than the conference side of 3 years ago.

Players of the current quality should have secured us at least a top 3 Ryman league position

I am confused by my own logic ,and think we need to start getting some wins under our belts.

The 'gek' word is starting to get a bit overplayed.

I think the players do train together at least twice a week so they are hardly strangers
