Student Concessions

I know it's been mentioned before but is there any chance of a concession for students being introduced at all? Quite a few other clubs run one. People in this age group are great to target and boost attendances, their young and will hopefully get hooked, plus they're independent enough to be able to get to games. I don't know about other people but I think the Fleet could certainly do with increasing the number of young adults at games, an increasing number of which are getting dragged down to the Valley on Saturday afternoons. Or have I been on the halfway line too long?

I think its a good idea. Anyone who can prove that they are still in FT education should be able to get some sort of concession.

 

For a kid in the 6th form or at UNI, twelve quid is a lot to shell out.

I took my 16-year old stepbrother with us to Kettering, he found it hard to believe that he had to pay adults prices at £8. At The Fleet, it's £12, which he pointed out could buy him a ticket at Charlton to see a premiership game. Also, the jump from £6, or £3 if you're in the junior Fleet, to £12 is alot, and another £120 at LEAST per season. £8 would lose you £4 per 16-18 year-old, but a fair few more would attend the games! As others have said, maybe worth the club looking into?

This point was brought up at the Forum a couple of weeks ago, and the Chairman said that they would look into it.

I wrote to Rob Grindley when he was employed by the club and I was a student, he wrote back saying something was in place regarding concessions with a valid NUS card. He left the club shortly after so maybe the "something" left with him.
