Yesterday's Referee

All the officials came from Coalville, blimey where's that I thought, somewhere in the Midlands.

Now normally when this happens they are so biased one way or the other if they come from a place near to one of the clubs.

But the ref issued one red and, it being correct, apart from that no one has mentioned any of them.

I say well done Messrs Symons, Hill and Lord, ESL please take note.

All officials were fantastic, the referee even answered one of our slightly dubious for handball with a shout of NO! Brilliant.

We were not so fortunate. We had one of them frustrating refs who blows up for every little harmless thing except when it occurs against the attacking team in the penalty area.

 

I have always said, I accept that refs are only human and will get things wrong, but what p&sses people of is when their approach is not consistant. You know the sort of thing. A defender 30 yards from his own goal knocks everyone flying to get the ball and is penalised. The goailie does the same thing and it is either ignored or he somehow becomes the victim and gets a free kick.

 

I still believe there are some refs who fall into the trap of giving what they think they should be seen to be giving as oppossed to what they actually did see.

i did think the ref loved himself a bit but he did talk to the players upon making every decision which is the sign of a good ref,at least the players knew what decisions and why were being made
