match posters

UP FLEET

A well done to All those involved with the designing and promoting of the posters that were handed out at todays game.

BUT WHY was there so many screwed up and laying on the floor on the way out after the game?

i wonder what the persons responsible were thinking when they threw them on the floor, what was the point of going to collect them only to throw them away. idiots

A poster has found it's way into The Central, oops, I mean Ascot Arms ! Not by me though. I was going to pick one up pre kick off, then I would have had to hold it all game....not easy when moving back & forth, not only to see the game but to avoid the stewards telling me not to put my feet on the line, get yer a*se of the rope, don't stand with your heels on the step etc...and the posters had all gone by the time I was on my way out......

Cheers,

Exatly, and as mentioned i think in another thread, the size was a factor in this. Some people, like yourslef, Hirsty, thought they will pick one up at the end of the game, but others, I would suspect mainly kids, would see them as a freebie, and anything free (or not free as may be the case in Gravesend) should be taken, regardless of weather it would be put to use or not.

Maybe an idea for the future, if there will be another time, is to leave 3 or 4 boxes towards the end of the match, or even handing them out on peoples way out, as I know how much of a rush there is sometimes, especially when the result is one we would not want, e.g Saturday. I do see other problems with this though, but the question is do the pros weigh out the cons?

At the recent fans forum it was said the ratio of full to part time players was 60/40. Therefore, we do have more full-time players.

Whats not clear to me is how our full-time status compares with other full-time teams in Nationwide League 2. For example, as I understand it the players train 3 times a week. How does this compare to a full-time League club?

For all of us that work full-time, our idea of Full-Time is 35 plus hours a week but as we all know footballers generally won't train this many hours on the pitch. However, presumably they may train alone at a gym to keep fit plus the time they spend travelling back and forth to games are "loosely" covered by their working hours? After all, if we travel somewhere for work purposes we expect to get paid for it, so why shouldn't footballers?

Good point.
I bet they don't have to their own expenses every month though!
Can you imagine Rio or Rooney trying to fill out an expense spreadsheet??

Rooney's idea of a spread sheet, is something you sleep under. And if it didnt contain an F in the word he wouldnt be able to spell it any way.
